i just bought a new *white* psp from a friend. his parents bought it new for him less than a month ago. he needed money for a tattoo. long story short. i bought the psp(box included, all accessories) for $120... great deal, eh? anyways, i heard you cant play UMD movies with the *white* psp... any firmware updates to fix this? also... i put some tv shows on my psp and when i watch them i will sometimes hear a clicking noise coming from the psp... anyone know what that is all about? also, any recommendations for a new psp owner? thanks
Just get the 3.11 update for your psp (unless your wanting to keep for "special" reasons at the orignal firmware), the UMD's are regionless i think so any psp can play them. And the clicking noise is probably your video unless it's the actual PSP thats making the noise. In that case i would ask for my money back from my friend or fund a shop that thinks they can fix it. An i reccomend www.pspfanboy.com they have really helped me cause they keep me posted on releases and demos ect..
UMD movies are NOT region free.  Dont know of a way to bypass it though. BTW tell your friend he's a joke. If he can't afford a tatoo without selling things his mommy bought him he's not ready for one.
The white psp can play movies right out the box just like any other psp regardless of firmware....but only movies from the region it was intended for. As for the click noise it could be one of 2 things...Either your unaware that when browsing through the psp's menus a sfx similar to a click is played for every option selected or its your videos.
The white PSP can play any games from any region. Although, as far as UMD movies go, it can only play movies from the region it was purchased. Hope this helps :)
