Just bought a ps3 , and I dont know what for.

You see THIS is what I'm talking about! it's amazing that you spent THAT much money on a product you weren't sure of and then question US on whether it was a good decision. You're joking right? the PS3 is THE BEST SYSTEM on the market right now despite "other" systems numbers. Look at the lineup: you have GTA IV coming in April, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots in June, not to mention Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy XIII, Resident Evil 5 the list goes on... this is why I say READ a review, WATCH a review, keep up to date with PREVIEWS,(and you can do all this at Gamespot) DO THE RESEARCH. You may also want to check the history of the system wars as well and it is clear to that since Sony came out with the "others" they have been winners! just bought a PS3 and i don't know what for? that's because you have made NO EFFORT in learning about the system you own. I wish I could say what you represent to gamers everywhere but, then I'd have to endure moderation or even a ban but, I will leave you with some advice: sell whatever systems you happen to own because you are NOT a gamer. The PS3 is a system full of hidden gems, there are truly great titles on the PS3 that have been underrated by the media because they thought it was the popular opinon to do so. A good example of this is Ratchet & Clank: Tools of destruction, it is a great example of a good next-gen platforming game but because it was on a then unpopular platform it was reviewed rather harshly.

All I can say is do some research on PS3 exclusives, there are quite a lot of them now.

Casino, chill out man. i did read reviews , thats why i bought warhawk. I was going to buy resistence until i played the demo. I know i will love metal gear, so Im cool with it, i just wanted something that was good now and not a multiplatform. and like i said i love video games since nes. so getting the ps3 was going to happen regardless. Also , all the games you mentioned are not out yet.

Picked one up because I like to game and blue ray won.

However I hate to admit it but it has been a little disappointing to say the least. I know it will get better so do not kill me for saying so , but as of today if you want to get the best out of it Uncharted and resistance r good , MLB the show is another exclusive that is good.

I owned a 360 first and I like the PS3 much more... apart from liking the controller better, and that the online's free, I like the reliability and the lack of DRM issues that keep me from playing the games I pay for. It's also a lot quieter and doesn't put off as much heat. Xbox Live Marketplace/Arcade is much better than what Sony has now, sure, but as for the console itself, I'll take my PS3 anyday.

I don't even like Uncharted or Resistance, I'll still take the PS3 these days. MS had a chance to win me over as a loyal customer and completely blew it. C'est la vie.

Recently bought mine and I love it, but I went in knowing what games were worth playing (have been disappointed in Resistance thus far, kinda run-of-the-mill). Uncharted is the one I had the most fun with, extremely frustrating at points, but a great ride. A little on the short side and no MP, but an excellent showcase for graphics on the platform and probably one of the best sounding games I've played as well. Heavenly Sword was fun, but really short, had a good story as well and would say it would be worth at least a rent. R&C is right up there with Uncharted in my eyes, havn't completed it yet, but having a good time none-the-less.

Not sure why you would buy a system (especially the one that is hands down the most expensive on the market) without having a clue as to what you're going to do with it. Perhaps you should research before dropping a load of money on something you're going to regret. Have a 360 as well and it has the games atm, but I'm liking the overall build of the PS3 more so far, doesn't feel cheap like my 360 and the failure rate is supposedly considerably lower (my 360 has given me no problems but too many reports of dying consoles to say that there isn't a problem).

The PS3 has better sports games(MLB the Show is the new MVP Baseball), plus the 360-controllers-lagg on sports games, so that's a clear advantage for the PS3, 2ndly more of the 360 games get worse reviews from the gamers, then the game-critics give it, while the PS3 gamers usually give a higer rating to games than the critics, so an objective look at the stats, says the PS3 is held in a higher regard by it's own users, then the 360 users regard the X360.

i have a wierd tast in games so i can't realy recomend any. I would say lair, Full auto 2, uncharted, heavenly sword, and you need resistance.

I to have gaming since the 70"s and my research is what stopped me from buying a PS3 . It was expensive and for the first two years the games and service are inferior to MS. Yes it is a better hardware unit and yes great games will eventually come out ( which is why I choose to purchase it) but I challange any " true gamer " to objectivly dispute the fact that the 360 does not have better games and service. I'm so sorry for starting this tread. It was not my attention to attract the casinoOutlawz of the world. I just wanted to vent my frustration, because what i thought were ps3 killer games, just didnt cut it to me. i do like the system , just not the games, (yet) To all those concerned as to why i would spend the money on this system. I would buy the 2008 virtual boy or neo geo if they came out with a system. thats just what i do. But in time im sure the ps3 will get the majority of play.

I bought a 360 (july 6,06) before my PS3 (march 13,07). The day i experienced my PS3 it was a lot better. There are plenty of great games out like Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted (must own), Call of Duty 4 (the PS3 version is better i have both), Rainbow Six Vegas (360 version is better but the PS3 one is aight), Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Lair is decent, Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3 exclusive), Ratchet & Clank Future is pretty good as well. Get some of those games right now and then you can wait for Resistance 2, Haze, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, Final Fantasy XIII, Motorstorm 2, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, inFamous and much more which are all PS3 exclusive. the ones that are not are GTA 4, etc.

Honestly Xbox 360's lineup for 08 is shockingly horrible compared to PS3's. Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, and umm...Gears of War 2 (which im 100% sure will get pushed back). PS3 has Blu-ray also which just won the format war in February so you know that it's amazing. If you are not sure about any of the games i have listed feel free to be a smart human being gamer and watch some gameplay videos on Gamespot, IGN.com, YouTube, or GameTrailers.

I have one question for you though...Do you own an HD TV?

Well, personally I enjoy my PS3 better than the X360, but they are very similar. I hardly ever see anyone say anything about Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, that is a pretty cool game, so is Army of Two and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I think a lot of people just go for the multiplayer in the titles anymore and forget about the single player experience. I bought my son Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction and have watched him play it, that game seems like it is worth purchasing if you enjoy colorful platformers.slammedc

I was not big on HS, but RandC I put as vary underrated. I thought Uncharted was, but when you look at what the Bots really have to say. They know what that game was. And they praise it.

drakes is a must have. if you want to see the graphics that the ps3 is capable of, check out that game. if you're interested in action games give heavenly sword a try, short but great. also you cannot go wrong with ratchet and clank tod, fun game. SBDTANGO

Any time you see I have both, this ones better. Cancel that post under spam. I do say "I know." I play and had the old box. And I play the 60 with my nephews. So I know they system. But I wont buy it do to more political reasons. None of which really have to do with gaming so much. Some has to do with gaming, but also alot just has to do with US bizz and other stuff. I dont like to play with cheats and bad guys lol. Lets put it that way.
