when chooseing my display mod on the PS3 settings i used auto detect. mt TV is supose to only be a 720p Screen. its a Vizio i bought at wallmart. how ever my PS3 detected and set the screen res at 1080P??? when i cut on the TV and PS3 the little info box that pops up on my TV that tells whet res ect when changeing to deffernt inputs ect says 1080pFHD. What does the F stand for and is this truly 1080p. Also should i keep things set at this or go into the settings and manualy change the res to 720p?
Your TV probably accepts 1080p input and then downscales it to 720p (768p depending on the set). Depending on the quality of the scaling hardware in your TV this may look worse than your TVs native resolution on 720p. Try the PS3 running at 1080p and 720 and see which looks best to you. Then stick with those settings.
