Just can't find it...

I'm looking for a dare I say "final fantasy like rpg" to play to help with the wait with ffxlll on the far horizon.

I was looking in to pulling out ffvll of its case, but i just beat it on my psp, i know its one of the greatest but to play back to back is too much for me.

I was thinking about ffx but i didnt know if there was a really capturing rpg of this gen because i cant find one.

Any suggestions?

If you want turn-based combat, you're sort of stuck with Enchanted Arms. It's awesomely mediocre. Still somewhat enjoyable though.

If you're ok with more free action fighting then Eternal Sonata is a great game. It's really fun. Valkyria Chronicles is more of a strategy game, but it's still an amazing game and my personal favorite on the PS3.

Final Fantays XII is fun even with a brand new combat system. It did take the game in a new direction but still maintained your typical FF themes. I did however enjoye FFX and FFX-2 a lot more than I did FFXII which has more of your traditional FF gameplay.
