This is one of the most epic and awesome game I've ever played. It's so good, it's in my personal top 5. I couldn't believe it since I've been a PC & console gamer since the early 90s and I rarely liked a game this much.

Took me about 11 hours on normal. The game is pretty challenging. Pretty much everything is perfect except one complaint...

The combat gets very repetitive and a little frustrating at later levels. 90% of the time you only get to use **** rifle and pistol, you rarely find a good weapon, even if you did the ammo is extremely limited. On top of that, the game just keep on spawning more and more enemies at you and you never have enough time to really stock up on ammo and find good cover. However, you do have the ability to unlock infinite ammo and one-hit-kill after beating the game.

What do you guys think of the game? Did anyone also hate the combat?

Yes... Why is that funny? And congrats TC. I had the game since Friday and I already beat it on Easy and Hard. I am currently on Crushing and at Chapter 21. Hard as hell...

yeah i just got to chapter 10 and had to make myself turn it off. i want to make this game last as long as possible. its simply amazing. everything is just so polished. the gameplay is good. its not great, but what makes the game so great for me is the cutscenes and the adventure overall. the cutscenes are remarkably done, and the voice acting is incredible. this would honestly compete with some of the best movies ive seen this year. thats how good the cutscenes are. and i absolutely love all of the funny one liners lol. like when chloe is climbing up a ladder and drake says "its a shame to have to sit on something that pretty" haha. there are tons of one liners like that that have made me laugh out loud. simply put, when you take in the entire package, this is one of the most satisfying gaming experiences ive had so far. i love it.

This is the reason why I don't want to purchase the game. No doubt about it that Uncharted 2 is a great game, but I really don't want to cough up $65 for a 15 hour story. Your argument may be with the competitive multiplayer addition, but I've had the beta for quite some time and though it is very fun, it doesn't have the same pull as other shooters. So the single player is amazing and that's Naughty Dog's main focus but 15 hours of gameplay just isn't enough for me to feel fully satisfied. Of course, I'll borrow it from a friend to take a first hand experience of the Single Player and I know I will undoubtedly love it. Just not willing to drop 65. :P

I got the game today, but I have no idea when I'll be able to play it. I work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. I can't even have a life. Plus, I still have to get Forza 3, Tekken 6, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, COD Modern Warfare 2, and LEGO Indiana Jones 2.

I used to think the same way. It is the same reason I bought Call of Duty 5 and Killzone 2 instead of Valkyria Chronicles and Devil Summoner 2. I regret my decision. I bought InFamous a month after it came out and I'm currently playing Valkyria Chronicles. InFamous lasted me around 15 hours but those were some well spent 15 hours compared to the deplorable moments I had with COD5 and Killzone 2, both online and offline. And when I'm done with a singleplayer only game, I can simply return to my social life. Then when I'm bored once again, I'll be playing these games again.

Good to hear more positive feedback but I'm still a little concerned with such a short single-player. I know it's the norm for most titles these days but I still want a little more bang for my buck.

My copy arrived about 30 minutes ago. I might play it on Hard for my first playthrough. I beat the first Uncharted on Crushing so I should be okay on Hard, unless Uncharted 2 is a lot harder than the original.

Agreed, but Uncharted1 took 3 years before the price droped.... if you can wait that long.

Im playing it on hard my 1st time through and Im finding it alot easier than the 1st Uncharted And I have a feeling that this game may actually get a 2nd play through from me...very replayable it seems I got it with the buy 2 get 1 free, so it was only $40 (technically) Movies at the theater are 8 bucks, and only an hour and 30 minutes, so you could see like 7 movies for ~60 bucks and still get less entertainment for your money

i really dont know why people **** about 12 hour campaigns. 99 percent of all games an be beat in that amount of time. take your time explore a little enjoy the scenery and it will take longer. also if you want a good narrative and fantastic pacing thats about the max you can go without having to resort to hours of side quest style filler to take up more time. and forget polish. anything bigger and youd be waiting an entire console life cycle just to play it.

this is easily the most enjoyable experience ive had in years. probably the prettiest game ever as well. graphics art direction animations all above and beyond what youd expect. pixar would be impressed with this animation.

Damnit. Seems like the sequel still has the same major problem from the first game. TC, what about boss fights and enemy variety? Or is it the same enemies over and over again like the first one?

i dunno the combat seems great to me. the first one had some slight control issues and cover issues this one is much tighter. im in and out of cover fairly easily and have no problem lining up shots. i like the way the melee is handled although you find you have to retrain yourself to not rush for a quick melee kill like you do in most shooters. it takes time for hand to hand combat unless you jump on the guy from behind him and snap his neck. the incredible set pieces which seem to be nonstop make the combat feel fresh. i havent beaten the game yet so maybe it loses it at the end. im pretty far in (just past the truck hopping chase) so far ive had no issue with combat or gameplay feeling repetetive.

This is actually the reason I waited to buy the first one until I found it for $25 (although after playing it I realized I probably would have paid $60 for it). Because the second one has online play, I knew I would buy it first-day anyway. Still, after thinking about it a bit, I've changed my mind about the value of the single player. $65 for 15 hours of gameplay breaks down to about $4.50 per hour, which is roughly the same (if not cheaper) than alot of people spend on a movie ticket each weekend. A two hour movie = about $9. I don't know about anyone else, but when you look at it like that, I get much more enjoyment and "value" for my money by spending 15 hours playing a game like Uncharted then watching even a really good movie at the theater.

*Insert fart noise here*

15 hours is a lot for a linear type game, it seems most people want a watered down open-ended game nowadays that takes 50+ hours. I think my money couldnt have been spent any better on any game really. Well worth it.

:PMa_king
Wow man you are pretty greedy, its gonna be over 100$s here and still no one cares. Its already booked out... And the game itself is awesome, its like one in a thousand. Especially on PS3 where there was a time when the choice was very limited. And now when you do get great quality quantity youre gonna throw it in the garbage.

...i dunno about the gears of war reference the building colapsed but it wasnt really playable. you were in it. it colapsed you navigate the wreckage. this one your actually playing it as it happens. mirrors have been done before. resident evil 5 wasnt the first. the crash bandicoot one works well though cause naughty dog is the creator of crash bandicoot as well. thats like saying the train has been done before. yes games have been on trains but never quite like this. this game does a great job of modifying and improving tried and true game mechanics and set pieces.

Like I said I beat it in just over 10 hours on normal. I got 20/100 treasures, I'm going to look for them and beat the game on hard again this weekend... Then crushing.. IMO Normal was as easy as easy was in Uncharted 1.
