No you gotta buy those seperately those are just cables to show 480i. To get 1080p you gotta get the hdmi cable.

Oh almost forgot welcome to the ps3 :]

those are regular cables

for HD cables, you can buy them in a store or go online. I forget the website but it's very popular, reliable, and affordable.

You have to buy the HD cables because there are more than one type of connection (depending on the TV a person owns). The composite cables that come with the PS3 will work just about all the TV's. But then there's the component cables that work very good and they can deliver up to about 720p then there is the DVI to HDMI that will support the full HD video and then there is the HDMI that supports full HD video and audio through one cable. So to supply the cable that you would need it would take four different cables in the box to cover most all the TV's on the market that would drive the cost of the console up even more than it is now.

yeah, don't buy into the monster cable crap. HDMI is a digital signal - the 'cheap' cables produce the same picture quality as the Energy and Monster cables with inflated prices of up to 2000% It's disgusting really that they charge that much... Even with analog cables like high quality component, never buy from those brands - they just eat money and work out deals with big retailers to push their products.
