It plays avi. all the movies and shows I have are avi. it just doesn't support some codecs.

OK thanks guys. Another question the PS3 is not detecting folder structure on the external hardrive. Any ideas? The message says there are no titles....

you can press triangle and "show all files"

It supports a whole bunch of formats. It's the codecs the PS3 is missing. Firmware please!

One last thing, (I already have a PSN account for my PSP BTW) how do I register the PS3 to my account? I've logged in on it and stuff, but how do you actually register it so that on your online profile it says you have it? Or do you have to do it manually? Thanks for the help, guys! :)
