Just got a PS3! more questions

now my question is how do you open and eject discs? lol

btw the games i picked up were KZ2, Resistance 2, Warhawk, & Motor Storm

and the switch on the back of the console is on/off right? do i just turn it on and put the PSN disk in? then how do i eject the disc?

Just tap the little Triangle next to the power button. Don't worry i never had a clue either :P.

How?

Take out manual from box - 5 seconds

Open to table of contents - 2 seconds

Find "How to use your PS3" - 1 Seconds

Flip to that page - 5-10 seconds

Look at diagram - 3 seconds

Eject disc - 2 seconds

That equals to 23 seconds MAX. Probably even less.

Now, posting on this forum:

Creating thread and typing message - 10 seconds

Waiting for messages - 1 minute.

That equals to 1 minute 10 seconds.

damn so my ethernet cables i used on my 360 wont work for PS3? these are just basic ethernet cables not specific for a certain system or anything

Go to Network settings. scroll down until you find media server connection. disable it.

this should work.

don't get so alarmed... it's is very likely that there is nothing wrong with your Internet. just disable the media server...

this ps3 system update error code is a fairly common occurance for new ps3 owners...

if this by any chance doesn't correct the error, try resetting your router/modem... if the problem persists, THEN call Sony tell them your situation... if they tell you to do the same procedures i'm telling you, go to where you purchased your PS3 and replace it.

To eject the disk, touch and hold the icon below the power icon (its not a button, technically, its a touch sensitive... icon)

When you power down your system, the light turns red, as you probably already noticed. It is then on Stand By. If you want, you can flip the switch in the back when its on Stan By to completely turn it off. Thats mainly if you want to move it somewehere, or if you want to save every drop of electricity.

can you connect to the internet browser via ps3? this update error rarely affects the use of the internet... just the update....

and by any chance, are you trying to update motorstorm?

yes. if your ps3 is updated, then you can quickly press the PS button (don't hold it, just tap it quickly) and the XMB (Xross media bar) will be pulled up while you're playing a game...

it still says im not connected and bringup those numbers, this sucks

i think i might need new ether cables

or esle im not doing it wrong, theres only 2 ways to change it and i t tried both eveyr way(4)lol
