Just got a ps3 today its great but...

Who knows, electronics are weird. My ps3 is basically dead silent 97% of the time, so...

Try putting it on a table and making sure all of the cables are plugged in correctly and aren't loose.

If that doesn't work ... turn up the volume :P

ok, so i put it on a table, no difference. i opened a window to let in cool, night breeze, no difference. it still makes noise

i suspect its just defective. im not keen on returning it though because i dont live in the states and id have to ship it back there for it to be replaced and i cant bear to wait a month before i get one back >

Yeah only time my PS3 became loud was when it was on the carpet and when my idiot brother closed the cupboardd door so i think the fan had to work overtime try and cool it down.
