Just got a Ps3.I wanna play God of war 1&2.will my machine play these?

Just got the 40gb Ps3 a couple of weeks ago.I had a ps2 the day it launched in 2000 but never had any of the God of War games.Will the Ps3's play PS2 games?Is it like the 360 where the machine will only play the bigger titles like they did for Halo 1&2 etc.

I would love to play God of War 1&2 but dont have a ps2.Please let me know if I can play these on my Ps3.

No sry you cant...the 40gb doesnt support backward compability with ps2/ps1. only 60/80gb...that is if you can find a 6-gb as they are no more on productionVaughnkiezel

pls edit your post to just PS2.

60 GB has Emotion chip(plays ps2 games like a ps2)

80 GB has Software Emulation(plays ps2 games with some flaws here and there)

40 GB doesn't support any of them at all, you can still play ps1 games though
