Just got BFBC 2... Time to trade in MW2?

Hey there. I just got BFBC 2 over the weekend, beat the single player and now have been playing the multiplayer and loving it. I have no desire to go back to MW2 and dont see a need to keeping it around when gamestop is having a 50% bonus on trade ins. Do you think they will do anything to this game to warrent coming back to it (besides that horrible $15 map pack), or is it time to trade it in?

i love MW2 and didnt think id ever stop playing it but im almost thinking this is a great deal, especially now that activision is charging $15 for 3 new maps - no thanks!

Really?? I picked Up Battlefield Bad Company 2 and man I haven't touched MW2 since! Why do you think MW2 is a more lasting multiplayer because of prestige. Prestige means nothing!!! You get more classes.. how does that make you better.. when you prestige you are already limiting yourself as you have to unlock all the weapons again.

I am a few trophies away from platting BC2 but I just traded in MW2 for FFXIII. I got $33 for the trade and considering that I only paid $40 for it, not a bad deal.

BFBC2 is by far the better game.

LOL, so true. I rented MW2 and had this game for only 2 days and in that time i managed to beat the game fully through two times (normal and then hard difficulty), do a majority of the spec ops missions, and spend a few hours in some very forgettable and unremarkable competitive multiplayer sessions.

BFBC2 is miles ahead as far as depth and gameplay possibilities.

Popularity =/= Quality.

Not to mention the fact that the game came out like 4 months ago as BC2 has only been out 2 weeks.

The only reason you guys are saying BFBC is better is because you guys werent very good at MW2 you either couldn't deal with campers or always got killed by killstreaks because you couldnt get your own I'm tired of this arguement MW2 is better game BFBC just has bigger maps going for everything else is not as sharp MW2

BC2 > MW2 by far. After playing BC2, I can never go back to a shooter with no vehicles and no destructible environments. It's just crap in comparison. Great when it came out, but it's already been one-upped. You go ahead and enjoy your strafe-dancing, noob-tubing, kill-streaking MW2. I'ma go hop in a Blackhawk and cram a salvo of missiles up someone's ass, and knock down a building or two in the process.

To directly answet you TC, yes. Go trade in. Since you're enjoying BC2 multiplayer much more, and rightfully so, then get the $40 from MW2 towards something else. If you want to plat MW2 for the sake of another plat, then by all means hang onto it. If you don't care about the plat, or already have it, you should logout right now and get to your local Gamestop ;)

MW2 is much sharper and well put together than BFBC 2 I own BFBC 2 and like it very much but I still play MW2 more than BFBC2 because its just fast paced and much shaper feel and btw I think most of the general population will side with me mainly because if compare the number of people online you will see BFBC2 doesn't even touch MW2.

Just went to gamestop during my lunch break and traded in MW2 and got 35 for it and just put that towards GOW 3 purchase. :D

And for BFBC multiplayer, I just find it much more intriguing, being able to take down buildings and surprise people from behind by blowing up the wall behind them. Not to mention the vehicles and team element. MW2 is great in that it's fast paced and awsome to play, but I just couldnt stand playing a domination match and having no one help capture the flags (having everyone just run wildly worrying about getting kills) or no one helping in sabotage matches. I think it's geat for the free for all, but thats about it in my opinion.

You, sir, get a cookie for making the right choice. And I enjoyed fast-paced...in Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. But I look for a little more in my shooters now, I look for realistic weight and control, not strafe-dancing across the street over and over or running in a circle shooting at someone. You try that in BC2 and you're basically offering a free +10 points for a head shot. Naw, you gotta be tactical, use cover, be strategic. It's what makes me crave BC2.

ive only played MW2 for about a week max since launch but i would still keep it just in case.
