Just got my dream setup.

I recently got enough $$ to purchase my dream setup (spend about 8.2grand)

1080p 52" LCD HDTV with a 4ms response time and a 120Hz refresh rate

6-piece Home-Theatre Surround-Sound with 1000 watts of power and 1080p ready

PS3

Xbox 360 Elite

Got a bunch of games to start with to,

Xbox 360:

Dead Rising,Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End,Halo 3 : Legendary Edition, Army of Two, Battlefield 2 : Modern Combat, Call of Duty 3, Crackdown, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Eragon, Fable 2, Final Fantasy XI Online & Ghost Recon.

PS3:

The Darkness,Fight Night Round 3, Genji: Days of the Blade, Grand Theft Auto IV,The Godfather: The Don's Edition,Lair,Madden NFL 07,Marvel: Ultimate Alliance,NBA 2K7, Spiderman 3: Collectors Edition, Tom Clancys Splinter Cell: Double Agent,Tony Hawks Project 8 & Mobile Suit Gundam Crossfire.

It was funny when I when to the cashier at the store were I purchased the games, he looked at me as if I was crazy, but I knew he was just jealous.

This is to everone who said it was a dumb idea
come on guys its not like he just picked up 8.2 and now hes not gonna be able to eat for a week hes probly been saving up for a long time.Truthfully if i was saving up alot of money i would spend it all on video games (10 is the highest i would spend though :P )

Are you sure  when he originally mentioned 1080p ready he could have meant the receiver supports 1080p input and output with HDMI, like a video switcher.

But nice SVS sub, Adamatoms.

High end receivers actually do have video processors in them to upscale to 1080p so he is not lying about it being a feature.Drumachine7713

But i don't think any of those receivers are out yet..

What i think he meant is that the receiver can pass thru 1080p content without any handshaking problems.

But i think this is all bogus...Nobody buys everything all at once...Unless they just recently won money...

If you think like that then, after the laser tv there will be something better.... so you better wait for that. and dont get a ps3 cause after that then the ps4 will be way better.

Well, I have read some people can be disappointed with them.  The main reason I've read is how the subs are made to be accurate or something by not adding bass where it shouldn't be, so overall it could seem lacking to some. I've thought about the cylinder ones but I ended up with a UFW-12 from AV123 with my Rockets because of a good deal. I recently added a Klipsh Synergy Sub-12 for $299 to give my setup a little extra punch in movies since the UFW-12 is a sealed sub.

I don't know about the impersonating stuff, but that would be bad. If I bought one I wouldn't have based it off a lot more than that like professional reviews against other subs, unless they were paid off too :)

 Not a chance - HD (Blu Ray & HD-DVD) will be around for quite some time. The current batch of HD consoles will have a good 5-8 year life span so all our Hi-Def sets a pretty safe for the forseeable future. Even if "laser TV's" were released next year there would be no content (consoles anyway) that would be able to utilize the new technology!

$8000 isn't that much if you really thought about it and considering this going to last this guy for a while. mikeslemonade

 Before buying a sweet ride of spending 8.2 GRAND on a GAME setup..........BUY A HOUSE!

  crap, crap, crap.... all that laser thing and sed is crap, a lot of plasmas with 100,000 of contrast (it's all about contrast, nothing more) are coming in some month and for the time sed and laser arrive the plamas and LCD are going to have higher specs costing less sooo

If the light's are on then a LCD, Plasma, or RPTV will look much better.

SED is dead anyways!

Besides at CES 2007, the 8th generation Pioneer Plasma's were said to have looked just as good, if not better then the SED HDTV's on display.
