This was a 60 GB PS3 bought at Best Buy with the replacement plan in January '07.
I was downloading the latest demos, popped in Tiger '09 and after about 10 minutes of play, the PS3 just turned off. I didn't think anything of it, so I started it up again, and after 5 minutes of playing, it shut down again. I thought a cable wasn't connected correctly, so I tried to start it again and nothing. It beeped on, the disc and HDD started to boot, then the yellow light flashed and the red light blinked. I thought it might be overheated, so I waited until the next morning to reboot and still nothing happened. It also had Tiger '09 still inside.
I took it down to Best Buy the next day. Since I had the service plan, they replaced the PS3 with the 80GB model, gave me a new Tiger '09, and gave me the difference from what I paid for the 60 GB model which was about $200. I back up the HDD every week, so I got home restored the HDD and was right back where I left off.
Just thought I'd share the story since most YLOD stories are depressing to read. This transaction was as smooth as it could get.
