I have heard some great things with it's matchmaking, and party ystem. More importantly that it is very fun. But, is it really THAT fun? Is it best online shooter you have ever played? Thanks. Just getting hyped for PS3 I'm getting this weekend.
Its definetly a great online experience; especially the ranked. Far better online (opinion) than gears of war, I have both. Solid gameplay, dosen't lag, great matchmaking, and updates. I believe its definetly the best online console game since goldeneye.

The chimera shoot flames when in rage mode or when they are coming out of or going into rage mode. I can't remember. Basically, they have rage mode instead of sprint. Rage mode makes Chimera faster, they can see through walls (they pick up heat signatures) and their weapons get stronger. However, if the rage meter fills up a Chimera's health bar drains until it reaches 50%. Turn off rage mode and you will regain any lost life.
RFoM is great online only because of the party system and the dedicated servers.
Otherwise, the game is unbalanced (the Chimera have the advantage) and, maybe, 30% of the players have a mic. There aren't as many gametypes as Halo2 has and the messaging system isn't up to par with Halo2's yet (no voice messaging, only host can invite gamers to the party, etc.)
Also, don't let any fanboy convince you most games are 20 vs 20.....at least not ranked games. The majority of the game I've played have been between 12-24 players. A few games with 32 players and only one game with 40 players.
Too chaotic, and not enough Breach and Meltdown games being hosted. Mainly a whole lot of deatmatch, which takes utter inasanity to new heights. No matter how great you are, you will not survive for longer then a minute, becasue of the cockamamie respawn anywhere system. R6 Vegas is so much better.
I love this game online. IMO it's better than Gears of War for online. Quite often with GoW I'd end up with 3 on 3 and that would mean taking ages to find the other team and then getting chainsaw attacked by surprise! At least with RFoM there's easily 16 at a minimum at once, often up to 32, and it's can be a free for all. Is great fun, and you're gonna get some kills no matter how skilled you are.
Resistance is in my opinion, the best online console shooter ever, it made me relive my first online experiences with Quake and Unreal(it's really THAT good).

errm..dum q but how do humans sprint ? i cant find da buttton.....best fps i owned to date.
In all honesty, I personally don't think the life system works well online. And another thing is you have 40 people on a map running around doing their own thing not saying a word because no one has a mic. I really wish SONY had just bundled in some mics :(. I really think it would have been better if they worked on a more appropriate life system (you can die before realizing you're shot, no not just with shotgun) but despite that it's still a good online game.
Like I said that's my honest opinion. I don't like to lie or exaggerate.
i play everynight and there is allways alot of people with mics. not everyone talks. ya gotta get in a tight clan. my clan has more then 30 people and they all have mics.. and everyones allways talking. before a game(ranked) starts theres allways people talking smack on the other team to. so id say lots of people have mics
The best online fps ive ever played. Little to no lag, amazing experience. But i havent been playin lately i must confess. But thats because of school not the game lol. I wish i could play it more.
I played alot of halo 2 on xbl and i definitly prefer resistance for sure, its free, and lag free. Theres usually a nice range of competition, and some games are pretty tactical. all in all i enjoy it even though i suck lol..
