Just ordered my PS3 last night!!! I can't wait to get it.

Finally took the plunge, and will be able to finally relate. I ended up finding a 60gig online for 499.99 and 11 bux to ship. I also was looking forward to the game Skate. After I ordered it though I did see the review on gamespot rated it a bit lower than the 360 for a shoddy frame rate.. I hope it doesn't affect my first impressions! What do you guys think I should get next?

Exclusives such as Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man and Foklore are fantastic games.

Excellent multiplatform games are Oblivion: Game of the Year edition, Call of Duty 4, Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero III, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Fight Night Round 3 and The Darkness.

Simply put, there is no shortage of games to play on this thing so you should have no problem finding several games that appeal to you. The future is very bright for the PS3, and 2008 will be a kick ass year.

There are quite a few good games to play right now and TONS more are coming next year. Plus, you have fully backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS One games. You sir, have options.

I would reccomend that if you want to upgrade your HDD, do it now. Yes, you can use an external drive, but I'm a fan of internal. If you'd like to install Linux on your system, then I would do so right out of the box. You need to partition the drive and give up 10 GB of space for Linux.

Do you have an HDTV and/or surround sound to go with your PS3?

Thanks for the welcome.. I appreciate it from all of you! Any ideas on what's free out in the world of PS3, so when I get it..I can do some of the cool things i've been hearing? GT HD a free download? what else is there?

I think eventually i'll be buying a bigger hard drive, but for the time being.. i'll stick with what i've got. It'd be nice to install a TB one day. Do the MFG's say to stay away from Raptor drives or anything over the 7,200 speed?

And finally, no HDTV yet. I'm going to be saving up for a 1080p set prob 42-47" in the spring after I get my taxes. I can't wait.. it'll be like playing a whole new system all over again then! lol.

Welcome aboard, I also have a 60gig which is the best in my opinion. If you like shooters go with Resistance, and also skate is pretty cool on a realistic way. If you have HD, then get component or HDMI cables for the best graphics. Blu-tooth headsets are nice to if you take it online.

Oh yea i was going to ask too.. Can I hook this up to my computer monitor for now? I have a 17inch LG FLATRON 1720P... I heard somewhere a person can. Just use the HDMI chord? or...

Congratulations bud, as much as I recall you can only you SATA 5400 version of a laptop drive.

But I read that new 320GB 5400 SATA drive has been released for PS3 for about 200$. Superb deal later on when I wish to upgrade.

You can you need a DVI to HDMI adapter assuming your monitor has DVI connections, also the PS3 has wifi built in as well as an ethernet cord which is included, it has a built in broswer for internet. You can search Ebay or Amazon for the DVI to HDMI adapters, shouldn't be too much $.

I've played more than 15 PS3 games (multiplatform or not) and still have to se any framerate issue ... I wonder if it's their TVs or minds ?

You did fine with the 60gb. There's nothing wrong with rather having a PS3 with the emotion engine over motorstorm.

well i have to say you have to get Resistance man this game is to good you got the campaign which goes co-op to but the most is online its to fun then join a good clan and do matches its just fun the next i would say it could be first if you dont have a mic is to get warhawk off amazon or walmart cause they sell it with the mic i see it as a a new game and a mic two for 1 but now its about COD4 Modern Warfare but just go with what you like and PS3 has some demos so can always have that to keep you excited and the 5 free blu-ray takes real time i sent mine out in mid august close to end and just got them Nov. 17

no idea i dont think it does but all you have to do is download it and have it downloading while your playing the game or watching a movie thats what i always do or even list to music

U gotta try HS, AC, and Oblivion. Dont worry about skate it looks pretty cool either way.
