Just switched to a wired connection and still slow???

SO i got a long ethernet cable just for downloading demos so it wouldn't take as long, but it still takes a long time...I'm not as network profecient as I would like to be so is there any settings on my cable modem that I should change to make things faster or something

I'm currently downloading the Drake demo, is it just a really crowded today and thats why it takes forever?

also anyone agree that it would be kinda nice to be able to download demos on your comp stick them on a usb stick and transfer them to the ps3...2 gig usb sticks are cheap these days

(BTW how long is the ethernet cable? Anything over 50ft will go slower. But it sounds like you have slow internet considering your wireless is slow too)

Yeah that is slow internet. My download speed is 6.5MB/sec.

Instead of waking up super early, just download the stuff tomorrow (friday). It's always faster the next day.

My download rate on PSN is 1MB/sec on thursdays and usually 2 or 3MB/sec on any other day that isn't full of people downloading stuff.

its the Psn network. takes forever to even load up the PS store. not my net speed, I can DL a 1000mb demo on xbox live in less than 20min, but that uncharted demo took almost an hour.gagit811

Nice to know the money I earn isn't going to waste. The service I have is the faster package from comcast.

It usually takes quite a while to download anything from PSN despite my isp.

For me speedtest say is 6.2 Mbit/s and I think this is a big lie. I think this test only shows maximum speed which theoretically you can get.

I just download test file from my internet provider and download speed was around 700 KB/s

Slow internet is my guess to. Which is 99.9 percent the right answer. Its not like your gonna hook up a junk box 60 to the same hook up and, all of a sudden have fast internet if your wondering. youll have the same
