just to clear up the LBP issue about paying for levels

What's a better incentive to create a level in LittleBigPlanet than good, hard cold cash? According to recent comments by David Reeves, president of SCEE, that's what's planned for the upcoming community-driven platformer. "What we're trying to do with LittleBigPlanet is almost iTunes meets eBay in the sense that once an individual or a developer has qualified by producing certain levels or certain add-ons, they will then be able in the future to exchange these and make money out of them," Reeves notes. "Eventually, it's feasible that you might well see the first LittleBigPlanet millionaire!"

Not everyone will be able to charge for their levels, only people who have made the best levels/add-ons are chosen.

I hope that the qualifications will be extremely high. I think they are looking for some few individuals that can pull off some amazing things.

yep, i think i'll be creating more add-ons than levels, i've got something big planned already :D

i think it was a great idea with the money the first time i heard it... then i wont be downloading crap lvls and researching more on the best lvls..

i really hope MM clariy how they will chose who has the abiltity to charge for the lvls cuz this game looks amazing

I will only support the idea if you can CHOOSE whether to sell your stuff or keep it free. I plan to go the creative route, probably either vehicles or contraptions but if they give me the option to sell my creations I would turn it down. This game is about "Play, Create, Share" and no matter the quality it should all be free. Also greed would dilute the content made by the top creators making more and more of the same bland stuff. And heres an idea; they may ask the people to submit to a contest/tournament type thing and the best stuff gets put into the MM DLC and sold later at a profit to the creator. That wouldn't be a bad idea.

its definitely not going to ruin the game. the second someone is allowed to charge for their level, more than half the online community will have already downloaded the level already, im sure. im sure they got this covered, they'll probably make it so that you have to get an massive amount of hits on your level before you can slap and small pricetag onto it.
