I've already taken the hard drive out is there a way to get the stuff of the hard drive and put it on the new hard drive?

It was so easy, to do I couldn't believe how easy they made it.

Yeah you had to back it up on an external harddrive, before you took the harddrive out.

is there any way to do it when it's out, I have an enclosure for the hard drive that I can hook up to a usb. It does nothing when I plug it in to the computer it doesn't show up anywhere, it just says "you're new is installed" I can't find it anywhere.

I have a 2gb flash drive. I transferred everything on my PS3 to the flash drive (took a few times) and then formatted the old 60 gb drive, popped in the new drive, and transferred everything back via flash drive. best part is I sold the old drive on Ebay for 25 bucks. PS3 FTW

Basically any 2.5 inch drive will do. I would recommend getting Seagate; IMO their drives are the best. Western Digital is good too. Just look for some reviews of drives online to see if it's worthy.
