depends on what kind of keyboard it is. If it is a usb keyboard then just plug it into the usb slot. If it is a Blu tooth keyboard then you would need to register it. If it is a wireless keyboard then I think you are S.O.L. because you need software to be installed to run it(someone please correct me if I am wrong. I am taking an "educated" guess)
Not true on the wireless. You can use a wireless USB keyboard fine. I have a Gyration wireless keyboard and mouse that has been working fine for months. Just plugged it in to my USB port, restarted the PS3 and been working fine ever since.
Am not sure about some wireless things on the console unless there Blue-Tooth compatible. I personally am waiting for more options to come out that are Blue-Tooth compatible then see what each one has to offer. This way there would a much wider range of options to choose from.
