killzone 2... easily the better choice..better single player and better multiplayer R2 single player couldnt bare to play it twice and the multiplayer..god dont get me started on it..sure its lag free but its sooo shallow , no depth to it.

The multiplayer seems pretty alike to me. how so? Resistance is like most fps's , RUn and gun.. no team work or tactics necessary , dont even have to aim really.. pick a gun find someone shoot! thats it.. Killzone2 on the other hand is class based (my fav type of fps) , get to pick different classes which have a variety of abilities , need to use tactics (spawn grendades , sentry positioning etc...) and not to mention the graphics are kick ass! i could go on but i am tired :) But ofcourse that is ur opinion and i dont intend to change it
I'm going Killzone 2. Although I never played Resistance 2, I played the demo for the first one and didn't like it, and I can only assume that the second will be very similar. Killzone 2, on the other hand, I absolutely loved and I played that game for a month straight which is very rare for me to do with a shooter.

Actually, no. Resistance 2 is very very different in terms of gameplay to the first one. It is actually a lot like Halo 3.

i love both games. But i hae to say R2. ive already traded in my KZ2 cuz i got bored with it really fast. R2 i can Co-op to no end if i want to level up my guy or play competitive aswell not to mention i can play with a friend split screen aka my wife who loves playing it with me. sad thing is no FPS hs been ale to really grab my attention for longevity. i Cant stand Halo and CoD4 ony kept me for about 6 months. I remember wen i play Counter Strike on my PC for 3-4 years straight and i would probly still be playing that if i had a PC good enoug to run it. Srry to say FPS arent bringing anything new to the table these days.
Killzone 2, the weapons are better (though not as outlandish as Resistance 2's), the gameplay is more satisfying and tactical than the run and gun, multiplayer also more tactical. Resistance 2 is more varied but apart from coop (which KZ2 doesn't have) it really falls flat. I have a suspicion that Sony took off coop from kz2 to give Resistance 2 a fighting chance:P.
Imo Resistance 2 single player is better. The storyline, I thought was very good.

Killzone 2 is a little bit better overall for me even though resistances campaign was so good. The online for resistance gets old fast, but the CO-OP is pretty fun. It all depends on what you want.
It was a tough choice for me. They are both great games. Without killzone.com (background info on timeline), R2 would definitely win because R2's story is amazing in my opinion. The lack of co op on Killzone 2 also sucks, but overall Killzone 2 online and gameplay is more fun than R2. Both great games and both should be owned by PS3 owners.
Resistance 2 had an awesome SP, and pretty good multiplayer but I cannot let go of Resistance 1. I liked the going around and picking up weapons as you go. Also, I think Killzone 2's Multiplayer takes the cake for me.
these threads are pointless and really go nowhere but to divide people up. its all subjective there no way to actually say either of these games are better then the other they both function there not riddled with bugs. plus this sample doesn't mean anything the so called hardcore gamers make up the minority of the gaming population. so its all just an excercise in frustration we have better things to talk about on the forum and we have more then just two games on the ps3 so lets shake things up a bit shall we.
