Killzone 2 Patch on Wed: More Ranks, Exploit Fixes and more ...

Looked through the boards and haven't seen info on this anywhere, just saw this onKotaku:

A 57MB Killzone Patch is coming on wednesday:

• adds three additional ranks to the top-level "hardcore" ranks.
• exploits on the Radec Academy, Helghan Industries, Salamun Market and Tharsis Depot maps are being fixed- these dealt with players getting out of the map or normal gameplay areas

I agree. The controls do take some getting used to, but once you do get used to them (and you will, I promise) you'll really enjoy them. At first I was totally frantic and couldn't aim for sh!t, but then I suddenly became every Helghan's nightmare!!! YEAH!!!!! Oh, and one thing I got that totally rocks are these trigger extensions for the L2 and R2 buttons. They just snap on. They are more like triggers and your fingers wont slip off of them in the heat of battle. I snapped them on and changed my controller scheme to standard 2 so that the R2 was my fire button, and it made a HUGE difference for me. In case you're curious, search 'sixaxis trigger' in eBay. They're ten bucks with free shipping and they snap on and off so you can put them up when you dont want to use them. They're awesome!!!Nephilim83

Both are great game's, I have my personal preference's but at the end of the day both are a lot of fun.

And yeah the mechanics take a while to get used to. But you DO get USED to them.

Its extremely aggravating when DLC are released and you cannot buy them! We dont have psn cards here and i dont have a credit card. The patch sounds kool but reading that its to ' prepare for the new dlc' just threw me off. I'll just sell the game when i'm done ranking up, cuz i wont be able to buy any dlc EVER.

How come it doesn't say that it'll fix the exploit on Blood Gracht? I thought that was the most common one...

I didn't have any problems with the controls, and I hardly ever play FPS games. The mechanics are fine. The are simply DIFFERENT from the COD franchise which everyone is use to. It's actually quite smooth once you become familiar with it

Or COD4 was just the only game they played for months after they found out the online was better than sex, drugs or religion. Well, religion anyway. Definitely a huge step forward for video games.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot to make my point. What's with the new ranks? Is this going to have any affect on me or is it just the psychological effect of watching a status bar fill up at the end of the match? I mean, new ranks don't really do anything... let's get some new classes up in here. Or at least a Prestige mode or something.
