Killzone 2....the turning point

ya and Sony also bought Guerilla Games so they probably saw a lot of potential in that company to make a mind-blowing game on the ps3, and also the 1st killzone was way to overhyped as being a "halo killer" and it was their 1st major game (not sure but i think so) so there was bound to be problems with the game. Well Killzone Liberations for PSP was AAA ...
Hopefully Killzone 2 for PS3 will get 9.6 or 9.7 - man that would be awsome :P

I think the fact Guerilla games hyped it as a supposed "Halo Killer" was there first mistake. It already set a standard for the game people were expecting it to stand up too.

In many ways the first one didn't really show that much that would actually warrent me actually buying a sequel. I dont care how good the graphics are, in the long run will it be worth the 600+ dollars I spent for this system? I mean graphics aren't what make a game and Resistance showed me that, it was boring, graphics at best were sub-par & the gameplay wasn't that great either. I mean it was nothing but Call of Duty except instead of humans you had Aliens. Now ask yourself is that worth your cash? No! So unless Killzone really delivers graphics that are better than that trailer like they claim, and gameplay that sets the bar for next gen FPS's count me out.

well IMO the Halo series has already dug in and has a very large fanbase now, probably a big enough fanbase that it can never be "killed". Actually, why does everyone feel they need to "kill" Halo? Halo might be a great game to many people but why don't you focus on making a great game instead of "killing" Halo.  Personally I am not a big fan of the Halo series.  I thought the first one was pretty fun and I bought into the 

hype and bought Halo 2.  

The multiplayer was fun for a couple months but man.. the campaign made me sick.  It was fun because of the hype for awhile but in about a month after I finished it on legendary I really hated it.  I sold it back to gamespot.com and I hate playing it when

people come over and want to play it.  I also am not a huge fan of MGS as after the weird story of the original MGS and the

fantasy bosses I really got tired of MGS.  I played MGS after MGS3 so I probably felt like the game wasn't as good after going

back in time.  The real selling point of a console is HOW MANY fun games there are on a console, not how great that one or two killer titles on that console.  

There are many other games that are doing the things you have mentioned w/ realistic graphics and physics (very destructible environments) e.g. Crysis. The thing to do is to just be like "Oh, that game looks like it would be fun." instead of "This game looks amazing! It is going to be a great game. I cannot wait for it to come out." If you simply don't buy into hype and just look at a game as entertainment and not a life-changing experience then you will most likely be pretty happy with games that come out.  Personally the PS3 is the best console for me because of it's offical Linux support.  That is awesome and allows a PS3 to be essentially your desktop PC as well.  The only thing the PS3 doesn't have is Mass Effect and Halo 3.  Personally, I do not care that much about Halo 3 but I will probably rent it to try and see it.  Maybe Bungie realized that they botched Halo 2 and completely moved away from what made Halo 1 so fun.  Other than Mass Effect and Halo 3 the PS3 has pretty much the same titles.

My honest toughts on Killzone 2 is that we talk about something that we know so little about. How can anyone say that what Killzone 2 will be like? have we even seen a gameplay trailer or something other than the CGI video that was made like what?? 1-2years ago?? No! There was nothing. Apperantly they showed some of it at GDC but not to the public.  If I heard right people wheren't impressed with it.  I leard from MotorStorm that they can push a game as hard as they want and make all the CGI videos about it but when it comes to real gameplay it's not the same. Sony promissed us that MotorStorm will be the same as the CGI video that they showed back in 2005..or was it 04? I can't remember. But MotorStorm looks nothing like it. I want to see some gameplay trailers....I need more info on Killzone 2 in order to hype that game.  To be honest I think it's way overhyped at the moment! It is. I like things being underrated and in the end, the people who talked **** gets a big pimp slap and we have all the fun with them being hypocrites and buying the ps3 anyway. Just like when Home was announced, I knew Sony had a wild card but no one saw it coming which that was also another pimp slap to the green and white colors (360). Sony will continue to do so and people will watch us slowly but surely gain the top once again. This year is 360's last year the have fun, after this year....they will rush to get that xbox 720 out (or whatever they call it) since 360 wont be able to hold the ps3's powerful punch. 360 lacks exclusive game categories.....that's why I never like it. 80% of their exclusives are scifi shooters.

The first Killzone was a good game. It was the best FPS for the PS2. All this time spent on Killzone for the PS3 will be worth it. I can't wait to see running.

Did Guerilla actually use lots of AI as mentioned in their presentation? I read from reviews Killzone was heavilly scripted. Or is this presentation a sneek-peek at Killzone for PS3? As you can see the presention is from a week before E3 '05. Everybody reme,bers E3 '05.
