So why are people disappointed with killzone 3? I though it was way better than the second one. I had a hard time unlocking some of the items but Killzone 3 made it a bit easier to unlock the things I needed. Plus they added a few things and I found it way more enjoyable on how they made the spawn trapping a bit less harsh.

dont get me wrong, im probably one of the biggest fan of killzone franchise, killzone 2 is by far the best fps out there, while killzone 3 is also awesome, and i like everythin about it. it does have some cons. there are a few changes and tweaks that could of have left alone instead of changing this and that to make more ppl hop on killzone wagon. but overall it is one of the best shooters to date, but i wouldnt say its perfect.

P.S in killzone 2 u had call of duty fan complaining that the controls sucked which it didnt, just had a learning curve to it. now the killzone fans are coplaining cuz they made it a lil like call of duty controls

They gave the options for the same controls as the orginal killzone and anothe for COD. Personal I like the COD style of controllers better because it was convenient to use rather than having to press down on the stick to aim.

I played all the way through the campaign with the Move controller, then went online with it, but decided to switch to the regular controller because when I fired my weapon, the rumbling of the Move would cause my aim to screw up. Now I gotta get used to using the right analog stick again. I never played the multiplayer of KZ 2, so I can't comment on that. I will say the graphics of 3 do seem to be improved over 2. I can't believe the amount of detail on the Helghast general's faces, and is that Malcolm McDowell as one of the generals?

I've had more fun with KZ3 than 2 despite it's flaws. My main gripe is the lack of server lists and custom games. I agree the unlocks are better in 3.

The maps are dumb stupid.

There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to see someone 30 feet away. These stupid weather effects for no reason are annoying.

I think KZ2 was a better technical game than KZ3 is. Doesn't mean KZ3 is bad. The biggest problem I have (and with most FPS' in general) is that it doesn't really do anything new or exciting. My personal feeling is that if they weren't going to push the boundaries, they should have stuck with the prototype that work (KZ2). It's different. The feel of the game is different, the way you progress is different and it seems like it's a bit more like what every other FPS is like these days. Now this is personal preference, but one thing that annoyed me was that this game was much, much easier than it should have been. There's less emphasis on the weighted controls and it's all second nature for FPS veterans. To add to this fact, the maps are about as boring as they could be. There isn't a lot of diversity and you have a lot of corridor running (which I can't stand). The campaign leaves a lot to be desired. It's short, easy and boring. The plot is unimaginative and sometimes completely incoherent. There's nothing really driving you through the game. To add to that, and I've heard only a few people complain about this, the cutscenes are obstructive and far too frequent. That added with the derivative maps is just not a good combination. I think the approach to the game was very different from KZ2. So people who loved KZ2 may be less than thrilled about the game. I won't say the campaign is good, I thought it was crap. But I also thought it was a pretty good game for what it was and the MP is still exciting and very, very fun. If I had to pick a game to play online right now it would easily be KZ3.

shadow13702

How so?

  • Lack of Custom ranked games
  • Bad leveling up system
  • Overpowered classes
  • Terrible maps
  • Tactical Spawns instead of Spawn Grenades
  • EXOs
  • Less players
  • Dumbed down
  • Made it too much like COD
  • Too much auto aim
  • Killstreaks/ribbons

KZ3 is just a dumbed down game that was made for all the COD fans that sucked too much to play KZ2.

The campaign was alright despite the awful ending and short length.

I love the game but there are some changes I could have lived without.

  • So server lists.
  • Luved the Marksmen and Infiltrator classes way too much.

The game did make some changes that I did like though.

yah i wouldnt call it disapointing cause i thoguht it was going to be trash in the first place. it was a generic fps with a awful plot, unlikable charecets(WHY WHY WHY couldnt rico of died) it had a legnth of 5 hours and was just plain and simple bad. yah its not as terrible as per say mw2 but sitll bad nonthe less

it has more to do with it being the exact same game as killzone 2 and killzone 2 in its self was a bad game. killzone 1 was ok but again its just a generic repettitive game but it was as repettive a 2 or 3. the whole seris eisnt relay worth looking into honestly,

yeah the sad things is theyre all too ignorant to go in options and OH SAY.........change the controls to their liking -_-...... my only complaints on KZ3 are in its SP...it was too short.....as far as MP....i could never quite put my finger on the thing i didnt like about KZ...whether it was its hit detection or it being weighted yet then again feeling to light at times.....i dunno what it is....yet in the end it wasnt enough to make me not wanna play the game

I'm done playing games that comes with 5 maps. Its as if they know the multiplayer is all we care about yet they never give you enough content so they can make money off DLC. Multiplayer wasn't that great to begin with either. Didn't bother with the single player, just traded it in to buy my copies of Mortal Kombat and Socom 4.

you have got to be kidding me! i just sat through playing both games today and after i finished killzone 2 again and went to 3 i found it so much more fun, like come on i stuck my thumbs in someones eye sockets!!!! try tell me thats not awesome!!!! lol also it felt less heavy while playing it, like in killzone 2 the gameplay felt like you were dragging weights with you and the sight on the guns completely sucked, but in killzone 3 there was a massive improvement in the sights for the guns. and the turrets are even better, how many times in killzone 2 have you had the issue of not being able to use a turret to the fullest because you cant turn all the way to the side, but in killzone 3 you can take it off the mount and walk with it. there are some things they could improve like the co-op screen letting you have a horizontal option. im so glad you dont haveto ditch your gun to carry a rocket launcher if anything i think killzone 3 is an improvement but i guess thats just my personal opinion.

i didnt mean the control scheme, i meant the way the gun feels the way the controls felt. it feels like a cross between call of duty and killzone, and that was kinda of a downgrade for me, they should of left killzones controls the way there were. it made it different than the other fps out there

Online co-op for the campaign should have been there and why can't you use move in splitscreen co-op. Glad they had co-op splitscreen but they should have implemented it correctly with move support and seperate PSN ID log in. Other wise the game is a great imrprovement over KZ2 in controls(less heavy) and graphics.

I played Killzone 2 because I liked how the controls felt and how the multiplayer was set up. If I wanted to play CoD, I'd buy CoD, so the introduction of CoD style elements into Killzone 3 took away from what I liked about Killzone 2. I played the beta and was definitely disappointed.

KZ3 is just a dumbed down game that was made for all the COD fans that sucked too much to play KZ2.

The campaign was alright despite the awful ending and short length.

Custom games is understandable but as for the rest I guess it depends on your opinion. The game is sort of getting closer to becoming some what changing in favor of COD but it still remains the same for the most part

  • he leveling system made it easier for more people. I didn't unlock a few things as I hate games that forced me to do things to unlock others. I can see the good in picking what you want to level, but in KZ2 you actually had to work to get stuff. For example, if you wanted to get the revolver, you would have to get a certain amount of kills with the other pistol to get it.
  • Maps is ok. Some of the maps could have been better but its not horrible Some maps (not all) favor snipers' way too much. It feels more like fighting over not getting sniped than it is going for the objective.
  • Tatical Spawn is alot better than being spawn trap. Its not as fun for the people in the trap and is way to easy to control the game once you have it. I guess some people don't really like playing on a fair scale. I've been spawn trapped much more frequently with Tactial spawn areas. The fact that they never go neutral makes it hard to recover from being spawn trapped. You can get spawn trapped with Tactical spawn grenades, but they go away after a few minutes, so you can recover. Not to mention in KZ2 you could spawn on your squad leader, which was another feature taken out of KZ3.
  • I didn't even know there was Killstreaks and Im 5 hours into the game lol. And whats wrong with ribbons? Increased accuracy, increased bullet damge, ect. They make the game feel less pure. The increased accuracy seems like a bit of an overkill too since it makes your aim way too precise.
  • I didn't notice much auto aim. Feels same to killzone 2 to me Maybe it's not that, but getting kills just seems way too easy in KZ3.
  • ****s are a bit overpowered but I didn't have guys spamming rockets at me anymore Yes you do. Rockets are secondaries now, which make them even worse. Besides, KZ2 had custom ranked games, which banned rockets, KZ3 does not have custom ranked games, so you can't ban rockets.
  • The Exo added more varitey tbh. People always complain about how cod is alwaqys the same so at least killzone 3 changed. EXOs are too powerful and are a pain to deal with.

So why are people disappointed with killzone 3? I though it was way better than the second one. I had a hard time unlocking some of the items but Killzone 3 made it a bit easier to unlock the things I needed. Plus they added a few things and I found it way more enjoyable on how they made the spawn trapping a bit less harsh.

the story and the focused on it is what killed it for me/most people, KZ2 story wasn't good, this one isnt as well but they put some much dam focused on it, which isn't a good thing imo, the controls which I wasn't a big fan of, hasn't change at all, it's a great game, but it's not as impressive as the 2nd game, because it really doesn't improve upon the things they should have imo.

the multiplayer is probably the biggest disappointment for me.

the sp is "eh...it's ok" for me. it's gorgeous, but the story telling is mediocore at best.

Did you really play the game? If you had you would definitely know that the controls have changed quite significantly. They are definitelly a lot less heavier than KZ2 but not quite as light as say MW.

I was disappointed in the campaign, not the online multiplayer. Killzone 2's ending was a great setup for an awesome story in Killzone 3, and I always thought the Killzone universe in general was interesting. But, even though it was announced that more focus would be put on the storyline, Killzone 3's story was shallow and there was a general 'lighter' tone to it than in Killzone 2. Many people complained that there wasn't enough colour in Killzone 2, but I disagree. Killzone 2 had a much better atmosphere than Killzone 3, and it was much darker. Killzone 3 just felt so... cheesy. Everything the characters said and even the design just didn't carry the same air that was present in Killzone 2. Many people were complaining about the overuse of swear words in Killzone 2, but I would much rather have that than cheesy dialogue. The multiplayer is fine with me, though. I personally preferred Killzone 2's maps but the gameplay in Killzone 3's online makes up for it - it's much better balanced: the classes, the weapons (the pistol is actually useful!), the spawn areas, the unlock system (the 'do this 10 times in 8 matches to unlock that' system in Killzone 2 was so annoying), everything. I think the main problem with the Killzone games is that the weighted controls work in the campaign, but not for multiplayer (at least in my opinion). They should add an option for that.

Personally, i didn't think this game had the best graphics like most people are making it out to have. Also I found that it was a little hard to kill some of the bad guys, i mean how many bullets can you take.
