What's great is that no matter how good it looks in the final product, there will be plenty of people is SW declaring "downgrade."ihatebugers
Thats the System Wars that I left back in 2005.
They'll post it here too, almost as much as they posted about Gears in the Resistance board until January.

It got a little too stupid for my tastes back around the 360 launch, where all the fanboys were claiming that Elder Scrolls and Gears of War were still running on Alpha kits, and spent half their day poking fun at the original PS3 controller design.
Now, when they visit here, they still argue that 360 games are being built on Alpha kits, but now they poke fun at the SixAxis because it lacks a feature that they never mentioned until E3 2006 was over.

The thing with Gears is that it doesn't match the cut-scenes wth in game. I played the game and I would see a cut-scene telling the story and when it went back to the game I felt the gfx had just been downgraded. The same way as the PS2 version of Resi 4, we all know the cut-scenes were taken from the cube version. If you look, the cut-scenes in Gears are videos and not in-game running off the engine. The final ending was such a bad quality vid that with the sound, it felt like the same quality as a internet stream on youtube. The developers obviously put more detail in the cut-scenes than the game to make the game to look visually better than it is. The same thing happened to Lost Planet. I saw commercials on TV for this game and it said at the bottom 'actual footage is repersentive of in-game graphics' or something like that. But it was bull as the the gfx in the commercial looked far better than the actual game and me and mt friend just looked at each other in disbeleif. Defiantly false advertisement.

Heh, that's about the same time I got tired of the endless copy paste topics and decided to look for greener pastures. Haven't felt any burning need to post on SW since.[QUOTE="Xanog1"]LOL, they also claimed GeoW to look better than the KZ CGI trailer and PSP games to look like PS1 games. :) SW is a fun place as long as it's kept there.[QUOTE="VonGak"][QUOTE="ihatebugers"]What's great is that no matter how good it looks in the final product, there will be plenty of people is SW declaring "downgrade."VonGak

AMEN, I only go there if i get linked to a funny threadPhil Harisson also said that they have done things that have already exceeded that trailer. When we get to see this demo whether its next month or next year I do not see it visualy being better than the CGI trailer. If they macth the the trailer then yeah great I'd be really glad. If the Demo is shown and Sony or Guerilla games tell us that the demo is visually better than the trailer I think because the trailer looked good that the visuals would only be slightly better but so slight that you wouldn't even notice even if you compared both footage. The only way you'll see the difference if they showed a tech demo of those differences comparing the demo to the CGI trailer. Tech demos like the new footage of Star Wars: tHe Force Unleashed.bamf03
out of all the sony execs, Phil would be the one i feel who is most believable
he does a good job of selling the ps3 without sounding like he is selling it
Even though I don't take rumors as true until they are officially confirmed by their developer, I can't see why Killzone PS3 wouldn't be a visually impressive game, given the size of the team and the budget, and the fact that even with significantly smaller teams, Guerrilla managed to make some of the most visually impressive games on PS2 and PSP.Xanog1Very true man, very true.

""From what I know, Killzone 2 could very well be the best looking console game, ever. Period. This was revealed to me by a Genji 2 producer back in September, citing the game’s visuals as even better than the original trailer.""
Like yeah :D

We'll see about that. That was an impressive trailer and to top that would be quite a feat. But ultimately, I would be more surprised that this is true than its just unnecessary and usually misleading hype once again. Due to the lack of any other form of official "visual" evidence i'm still sceptical about the words of yet another developer (or who ever). Nonetheless, it'll most likely be a great game with mind blowing visuals any way, and my scepticism will not refrain me from purchasing this game ( I think that speaks for everyone anticipating this game).
