It may be a false alarm; don't video game companies tend to throw out patents for everything? That said, an expanded version of MGS4 seems like a good idea, especially if it has oodles of VR missions - MGS4's gameplay was awesome, but there were about five hours of it. I want something to play when I feel like getting an MGS fix in a short amount of time.
It'll be the best thing to happen ever to the video game industry if Konami and Kojima go nuts and remake MG1, MG2, MGS1-MGS3 all up to standard with the MGS4 engine and gameplay. Thus, Existance which does fit it.
I'd be upset if it's anything but an expansion of MGS4. I can't get enough of this game. I need more things to unlock and such. Hopefully it'll have trophy support as well. It would also be nice to have new box art, cause the North American box art is so lacking compared to PAL, and Japan.
Wasn't the registred title for the MGS movie that is going to come out in 2009???
Personally i don't give a rat's *ss about the movie there aren't too many good actors who can play solid snake (maybe Marc Dascados from the Crying Freeman movie). So there you go and doing a remake of all the MGS titles would be a bit weird since the first PS3 models have an RSX chip to play PS1 and 2 games but then again i have the latest 80 gig edition with the rumble controller wich isn't Backwards Compatible with PS1 and PS2 games.
So we'll see we can all bring fairy tales in the world with speculations about that Konami is bringing an new MGS out with expansions (Substance, Subsistence) or a Movie or an PSP game who knows. We just gotta sit this one out and wait.
I may love Metal Gear. But I just don't have the money to buy another copy of MGS4 at $60 just for a bunch of VR missions. If they made it Downloadable off PSN for a quarter of the price, then I would buy it. There's no need to buy the entire game again on another disk. It may have worked with PS2, but now there's no excuse.

I am too. And I can't wait to find out what it is. I hope it's the MGS4 movie like they did with the "Existence" disk in Subsistence. The cutscenes in MGS4 with the mix of sound, EPIC music and returning bad ass characters are MIND BLOWING! COME TGS! Seriously can't wait.

Or it could be a 2 disk PS3 game. Disk one has all of the other MGS games, disk two has MGS4. Hence the whole existence thing I guess? Get it all in one package. If it means a new game, then great. But I'm not giving my hopes up just yet since they worked their arses off for close to 4 years on MGS4. I would imagine that there will be a grace period before they take on another huge project.
