kratos the new face of PlayStation?

i just read an article in GI and they think that kratos is the mascot sony needs to stand side by side with master chief (360) and mario (wii).

now i love the god of war games and while kratos may have a bad azz attitude, is he the top mascot for sony right now do u think? or could it be sack boy from little big planet, ratchet, or the guy from killzone?

IMO i dont think that they need one definitive mascot i like that they have many to choose from and all are great games from different genres so you cant go wrong with any of them but kratos is probably the mascot to go head to head with MC (and will make great sales with GoW3) sack boy may be the mascot that is more mario-like and more family friendly (and has had some success and is becoming a bit more popular)

in terms of a more mature 'mascot' and more important franchise, id go with Kratos. But in terms of family friendly, its Sackboy (no matter how cute you make Ratchet he still shoots things and thats not really PC, even though if i had kids id get it for them)

For me, it would be Kratos, Sackboy, helghast, nathan hale, and/or Nathan Drake.

It would be kinda hard to limit it just to one mascot on ps3 lol

i think its either kratos, sackboy or helghast kratos: one badass looking guy that would pwn anything/anyone standing in its way sackboy: friendly looking thing, funny sometimes helghast: when dark, those red eyes make them look reall badass lol or the could make a mix of all 6 of them and have a mutant as mascot lolkweeni

solid snake always has and always will be the face of ps3. kratos is up there as one of ps's most recognised games. but it won't beat mgs.ZaroRansolo

well, halo wasn't originally for the xbox, it started on the pc and microsoft bought it from them, you can still buy the games for pc.

Snake has been associated with playstation since metal gear solid 1 came out exclusivly for the playstation 1 and sold over 6 million copies, sony saw this as a chance to make more sales and put money into snake being the playstation's mascot.

I'd prefer the Helghast.

They've got a more menacing look about them that's amplified by their ominous face masks. I think this puts them on the same level as Master Chief.

i think he is mascot for Action and GORE for PS3

while Sackboy for Family Oriented or Creativity for PS3

and Ratchet or Clank will be for Comedy and weird storyline

You can't have Snake as the mascot for Playstation. There have been some Metal Gear games that have been released on Nintendo consoles and you can't have a mascot thats been with both Nintendo and Playstation. I'd like to see Sackboy as the mascot for PS but thats just me :).ratchet200

There isn't one single "face of the playstation" because unlike the console there's more exclusives on the PS lineage. That being said I like sackboy.PSdual_wielder

I agree. Wouldn't it be nice if they got back to making good video game commercials and had Kratos and Sackboy do a TV spot together? I can imagine Sackboy trembling in fear while Kratos describes how brutal God Of War III is going to be!

The playstation 3 doesn`t have "one mascot" thats another good thing about the ps3, MS doesn`t have a great selection of mascots, besides Master chief, because the xbox shares a lotta big titles with the PC, Mascots like marcus fenix can be counted as PC mascots. But the playstation has much more, nathan drake, ratchet, nathan hale, kratos, sackboy, Helghast, ISA etc..CQuark
