KZ2 is too manly for me.

Recently, I've been having a blast playing AC2 and the Bad Company 2 Beta on my PS3. I just finished AC2 the other night, so I put back the game in it's case, and put it back into the game shelf were all my games go.

Right then, I noticed my Kilzone 2 copy that came with my PS3. It was collecting dust from the first time I played it, which was also the last time. Feeling the Holiday spirit still within me, I wanted to give Kilzone another chance.

I wiped off the dust, and popped the game into my PS3. Within 20 minutes, I knew exactly why this game was utter crap.

I admired the graphics, and loved the way lighting worked but then realized that... I hate the characters, I hate the story, I hate the fact that my weapons seemed like bb guns with the helghan absorbing so many shots, I hate the logic of it (there is no logic), I hate the uber-macho main characters that you're supposed to like, I hate the atmosphere of it (cliche), I hate the fact that enemies ALWAYS stand just in front of red barrels,

I hate the crappy cliche attempt of modeling Hitler.

I hate how they can safely (for the most part) send flying pods with a crew of 6 or so people down to Helghan to land (and they DON'T get blown up by anti air craft weapons!), but they can't just drop A-bombs instead.

I hate Kilzone 2.

Rico ruins the game for me, if I ever met anyone like him in real life, I would spit on him. Memorable quotes include something like

"Yeah let's kick ass!"
"**** politics!"

"Oh I'm not so good at history either."

"Listening to this **** makes me want to break something."

Reminds me of MTV's stupid stupid stupid new show, "Jersey Shore".

And the controls aren't even an issue you get used to them after some time, personally I loved the game and the Online was really good too. Especially the Clan system.

Gears was really uber-macho too, however the story was enhanced by Marcus's past with his father, and Dom's search for his long lost wife. It revealed the complications within these characters, and made them a lot more 3 dimensional, than the linear-cuss-mouths that appear in Kilzone 2.

I've gotta agree with the TC. The game just doesn't do anything for me. It just felt like a bad made for tv sci-fi movie or something.

It's a WAR game!

People swear in combat. simple as that. now it may be a little OTT, but it's not unrealistic.

and you cant talk about too macho after the awful **** that was MW2 and it's machoism dribbling from my TV set.

the graphics were gorgeous. well made, beautifully rendered and excellent to look at.

and as much as i hated KZ1, i think the story of 2 was pretty good. and you show me one badguy this year that was more badass than Col. Radec

My favourite shooter this generation.

The good guys aren't the greatest but Radec. The Helghast and Visari are really awesome.

I love the weight, I love the animations, I love the way the Helghast die, I love the guns, I love the graphics, I love the atmosphere and I love the multiplayer.

I'm with urdead ^^ this is my favorite shooter. The game is amazing nuff said. If you don't like it thats fine, go back to your beta or whatever else you may like but this rant seems more fitting for a blog....

It's different! its not Call Of Duty or Battlefield so no-one wants to play it.

i have played all the COD games and all the BF games, and i still reckon that so far, KZ2 is the best FPS game this generation

No, MW2's story was excellent, if not a little forced. The action sequences were incredibly blockbuster and I was entertained the whole time.

Killzone 2 had none of this. Just awful dialog (other than Brian Cox's script), more of the same FPS gameplay that we've all seen and an almost absent story.

I kinda enjoyed the campaign. way to short. i liked the graphics and the controls were okay but the multiplayer imo was really bland. After i played kz2 for awhile i was dissapointed, felt ripped off for my money, and couldn't figure out how it took them half a decade to make it.
