Fine titles, Im sure they'll score 10/10, but there can be only one GOTY
Umm no...so many things wrong with these statements. 10/10 for a FPS will never happen unless its the most revolutionary game ever created which R2 is not(its going to be a great game but no 10). And i'm pretty sure LBP is not going to be a 10/10. Not even going to discuss the fact that L.A. Noire probably won't be out till 2010 and that LBP and R2 come out in 08 so its not in competition with Noire. People seem to forget that MGS4 and GTAIV have already come out and already have proven themselves to be the top 2 GOTY contenders.I think this was announced about 4 or 5 months ago. I dont care if it goes to both system as long as the game kicks ass. BrettB7400
Yup. And as long as I long get to play it im set. Im not desparately involved in PS3 profit margin as that does not effect me.
what kind of hype is this for a fresh ip...I dont give a monkeys behind if its exclusive, I just want it! The sooner, the better........Im already calling GOTY 2009 on this title.

if it loses exclusivity, its just another hit to ps3... i really hate to see this as ps3 owner but it seems "ps3 will die sooner anyway" thoughts are shared by devs...
I think people are confused, this isn't Rockstar's exclusive PS3 game, that's supposed to be something else entirely.Floppy_Jim
You are right. This was never confirmed exclusive. The PS3 exclusive game is an entire new ip. I dont know why you guys are dissapointed that it is not exclusive. Its still gonna kick ass.

It has nothing to do with "PS3 will die sooner." It has to do with "This game costs boatloads of money to make and we want to maximize profits." A solid business decision.http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=54626
Kristan Reed: How are you funding the project? Has SCEA given you an advance or is this self-funded and totally independent?
Brendan McNamara: The project is wholly funded by Sony Computer Entertainment America. We have a long-term exclusive arrangement with SCEA.
This was back in 2004, but I doubt anything has changed since.
Many of the above posters fail to see my point. I don't care that the game is or isn't a PS3 exclusive, as long as the game delivers a really great story with equally awesome gameplay, I'm down with it. My concern, if you'd like to call it that, is IF the developers decide the game should be expanded through downloadable content in the future, we PS3 owners don't get c***blocked like we did with Grand Theft Auto 4's DLC. That's it.azzezino360 will only get exclusive DLC if MS pays for it. Like they did with GTA4

I see your point. A dangerous place to be, in between that wall and a hard place when waging console wars.

wrong, early in the article it states:
McNamara and a bunch of former Team Soho colleagues recently founded Team Bondi, signed a "long-term exclusive" deal with SCEA and got to work on an as-yet-untitled PlayStation 3 title (no it's not coming out on PSP, before you ask).
Also later it says that the development time will be as long as the Getaway, and they wanted to create a new game to match the success of the Getaway.
Also it says:
Kristan Reed: Will it be, creatively, a complete change of direction after The Getaway, or are you looking to build on the success and promise in that game?
Brendan McNamara: The Getaway 2 is being made as we speak in London and I'm expecting big things from the team and the game. There was certainly plenty of room for improvement from the original game. Having said that I'm still proud of what we achieved first time round.
We are looking to do something that is a change of pace and doesn't necessarily mean killing 200 people in one day. It's pretty hard to maintain the plausibility of the story with that kind of body count.
