Lack of PSP game releases this year

This year I've noticed a sharp fall in released PSP game material. The only saving grace has been the quality - God of War, Final Fantasy, Fifa series - future releases Secret Agent Clank, Loco Roco 2 & Gran Turismo Mobile.

Have the delvelopers given up on the PSP or are they stepping back and re-thinking there approach to PSP games. The PSP can produce stunning graphics & quality so I find it really hard to understand the problem. The one true weakness of the PSP has been lack of a dual joystick, but I believe Syphon filter dark mirrior & Logans Shadow has proven it can work without the dual stick when thought has been used.

When I look back there has been a lot of top quality games but I have to admit I had to find my way through the rubbish. Overall I think the PSP has the greatess potential because of its versatilty and purely its one great game machine.

Ok so what I'm asking is - What do you see or think?

Do you think Oblivion for the PSP is still going to happen?

I've noticed its reappeared as a pre order on play.com.

Dude, we're getting Hot Shots 2! Who needs anything else?

(Kidding, but I honestly can't wait for it.)

3. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep

4. Dissida: Final Fantasy

5. Playstation Network games (like Flow and proabably in the future Everyday Shooter and Super StarDust)

Wait til E3 this year. There is suppose to be countless PSP game annoucements.

There's still Secret Agent Clank, the Star Ocean Games, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy: Dissdia, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.

I'm also keeping hope alive that Devil May Cry or Oblivion gets announced at E3 this year.

I really wish the PSP will get better games but really good ones have come out and Patapon came out and that is my favourite game of all time! So its already been an amazing year but we still need more games.

You forget that the Wii doesn't have much besides Wii Fit this year and its still selling like hot cakes.

Anyways, the reason the Americas aren't seeing much is because most of the developers are making Japanese games. Star Ocean 1 and 2 are incredible RPGs, and the action games like Gundam Seed Rengou vs. Zaft are a ton of fun too.

Fingers crossed there are more releases than have been stated. Sony needs to up its game and communicate, I guess what would save the programmers money would be to release the games in a downloadable format via PC or PSN store to memory stick. This would save on UMD, case & artwork costs - there would also be no middle man i.e shops taking there cut.

It would be so cool for example to download GoW 2 from PSN network directly to your PSP. And maybe then the programmers would sit up and take notice of the PSP gamers.
