Can I get a quick rundown on how it all works...sorry, I have no idea about this stuff. -can you rent any movie? -is it just certain ones that stream to the PS3? -what about TV shows Sorry, I have never used any type of rental service. u can stream movies. tv shows, u name it. u can add movies to ur dvd queue ( movies, tv shows that are only available on dvds) here use this code it will give u a free month access to netflix, and u can judge it by urself, it actually is good, netflix replaced my cable box lol for me at least, it might not have EVERYTHIN on stream, in that case u can add it and ull get a dvd that u get through mail ( free by the way). anyways heres the code its only valid till 10/30/10 so make sure u use it...... Yes, their are tons of games in 2011. Dragon Age 2, The Witcher, Duke Nukem, Killzone 3, LBP2, Gothic 4, maybe Project Dark.
lmao, the king has to wait, till i see more info and videos, and knowing me im still going to keep buying games even though i wont finish the ones ill buy lol....kinda of a bad habit of mine. but i kinda like it in a weird way too, since i cant play a certain game for too long without changing it after few hrs lol

Being one one of the people who signed up for Netflix when PS3 support was added last November and having used the Disk App almost daily I can say this is a MASSIVE improvement!
Here are my observations
Improvements/Pros
Super Fast - its takes around 3 seconds for movie/show to load after play is selected (compared to before on the disc, of 10-20 seconds), seeking is also faster
Detailed Library Browser - The UI has been changed from a barebones scroller to a detailed, fast, sleek library browser, No longer are limited to 75 movies per category/search/genre and the genres are sub-genred too (TV -> Kids TV -> Ages 3-5)
Stay "connected" - You stay logged into the PSN and can access the XMB without having to exit out of Application
5.1 Surround and 1080p streaming - Nuff' Said
Cons (very minor though)
Basic stream information - No longer able to see the bitrate of the video or audio, only shown quality levels Before: 3.02 Mbps Now: High / SD
Sound Glitches - on the 5.1 Streams I tried, I noticed a few stutters in the sound (it maybe my sound system but haven't tried it on another system)

yea pretty much what id say, except i havent had that sound glitch ( knock on wood) hoping its ur S.S lol, and the basic stream info doesnt bother me, the only con i see so far is theres no chapter skips....for ex. press L1 to go a chapter back or R1 to skip a chapter, though pressing the D pad to go between scenes have been improved and is faster and more responsive
Yeah its very minor sound glitch, its not too noticeable to someone who is just there to watch the show and doesn't care about it from the technological standpoint, like me ;) Yeah no "chapter seeking" but thats not available on ANY Netflix device (even computer) The seeking is improved greatly (no more out of control rewinding or fast forwarding), also the picture previews actual load and are clear to where you can actually see whats happening in the preview!

I've also noticed the load times before watching a movie has shrunk quite a bit from the disc version. And it loads faster than my Tivo, and 360 version.

The screen flickering would be when the PS3 was switching resolutions (from 1080p to 480p for the SD streams)

nice.. i stopped using the disk awhile ago... like the new look and how it works.. thank god i hated how the disk worked that layout was horrible.. i think i'll watch psych season 1..
I just laucned the app again and the layout is a little different. the movies are on the left now and a description of the highlighted movie is on the right. and now i have to press Square to bring up the Categories. I used it earlier this morining and it was different, the movies were on the right and I could browse the categories by pressing the D-pad up and down. How can I get it back to that setting?

hmmm, i re-launched. and this time it asked me if i was a memeber or do i need to sign up, and after i went through the sign in process, the menu layouts and few things been changed. even that feature where u hit triangle and shows u the movie/tv show before u even play it
This is awesome! I would rather not have to sign in to use it though.
Any news on why the layout was changed?

no it was a one time thing, to make sure ur a netflix member. and no news yet im lookin around but nothin so far........if anyone finds anythin out, please post it here so we all why the change
They've done a really nice job with the new update. The ability to search for titles is a nice addition, and it buffers much faster. 5.1 surround to boot! :) BTW, can anyone tell me if the dedicated PS bluray remote works with Netflix, ya'know like FF/REW/Play/Pause etc.?
