I took a chance today and bought it at Gamestop. I went home and played it for a few hours and WOW was I shocked how good this game is. I had no problems controlling the dragon with my six-axis. I did my turns with no trouble at all, but I can see where the trouble is with reviewers. They use it like they are controlling a plane. It's a dragon, you have to move it like you are on a real animal. Take it slow not constantly moving the six axis.

The graphics are amazing. The way how everything looks and feels is just so beautiful. The water doesn't look like crap as what the reviewers are saying. It actually looks very nice. The graphics on this game is top notch, however, there are are some slow downs here and there when there is too many things happening on the screen, but it is not something we can't handle. The story is very cool too. If you are into Lord of the Rings and such, you'll love this story. It is like being part of a Lord of the Ring world. The sounds is done very well also. If I was a reviewer, I would've gave this game an 8.5.

Anyways, I personally really like this game it was worth my $60. Don't call me a fanboy too because I have both consoles and I like the other system games also. I'm just putting out my honest thought of this game.

I rented it today and I have to disagree. I played through the first three levels and so far it's horrible. Based on my experience so far I'd give it a 4.0 The graphics are very good despite the occasional slowdown and so is the sound despite the mediocre writing and voice acting. However the control immediately becomes a burden as soon as you're in tight quarters. Dueling with other dragons with the motion control is laggy and unresponsive and doing it with the fighting game style combat basically is just button mashing. There are more attack buttons than most fighting games. And finally for some reason it seems like there's a cutscene every three minutes, which breaks up the gameplay way too much. This game is really frustrating not only because of how bad it is but because I know how great Lair could've been. oh well

I asked this one guy on my friends list who had lair what he thought of the game; The guy liked it! Even more than warhawk!

So yeah, I'm getting the game and trying it out for myself...

I definitely envy you if you can actually enjoy Lair. And yeah I do play the game very relaxed but sometimes the game requires you to move your dragon very precisely and it's just not easy or intuitive to do so. Like when you have to go inside the giant head thing that shoots out firbalss in the third level.

I really didn't have that problem. I think this is just not your type of game. It's cool tho.

espoac ur 'review' is the same exact thing the gamespot dude and gamespy guy talked about.

seroiusly its not a bad game, i'd say 8.2 is the right score.

if u cant control this game u shouldn't be playing video games cuz obviously u dont know how to learn.

Its sad when poeple go only by reviews....... Also to the person who posted up from me, the new gamespot ranking system is by.5 so it would go 1 1.5 2 2.5 3 3.5 ect ect ect so your score would have to be 8 by the new standards

LOL...this must be the "I TOOK A CHANCE ON LAIR DAY" because I picked it up myself. I like it, but the controls are a LITTLE frustrating but not as bad as the reviews say. I give it an 8.5.

exactly its just blatantly obvious now that this game is not a 4.5 game, nor 4.9 nor anything lower than a 7 and thats the truth. The fact that these "professional" game reviewers insult the game in their reviews and do not draw attention to whats really going on with LAIR and its features and gameplay is just an insult to us and the developers. (IMO this game is also a 8.5)

The game is good I bought it 8/30 from gamestop. It is a fun game and playing it on 1080p its the best. The controls are not bad at all i got the hang of this game pretty quick. Overall it should be an 8.5 game from what the reviews have gave it...it would have been that but they had a hard time with the controls.

Peace

i think that on really big important hyped games (i.e. halo 3, bioshock, lair, killzone 2, stuff liek that) that 2 or more people should review the games and combine the reviews so that it has all opinions. but tehn again every site hated lair except play magazine.

no matter what tho, a 4.5 is not a fair score

Yes,all us patient gamers who actually tried to learn and eventually perfected the motion controls actually enjoyeds the game better than causual gamers (like the guy in this thread who said it deserves a 4). Us Hardcore gamers take the time to learn new things from any game and despite bad reviews we all still ended up buying/renting LAir and absolutely loved it. It's kinda weird that people are still posting threads about How much we like the game and hate the reviews... when there is a sticky above all the threads that wants us to talk about LAIR in that sticky. Aw well... Ive been a tatal tell these past few days and won't do anything for this one. I love it that people enjoy Lair but I hope a mod doesn't come on and lock this. Keep playing on guys until Heavenly Sword comes out this week :)! May Lair live on in our hearts ;)!

whoever's good at Ace Combat, Lair is his cup of tea, period.
