Lair: This is How You Play The Game With SixaxisReviewers need to learn how to play rubber ducky first before they can ride dragons with the sixaxis.

I am personally enjoying Lair, and I am not having the difficulty that some are with the controls. The reviews Lair is getting is a prime example of why I never listen to reviews on games.
Oh well, to each his own.

I agree with you 100%
Still looks like lag in the control. Also, it's a game developer's job to make a game accessible to a user no matter how they play. In a non gimmicky controlled game, developers have to deal with issues, like constant button mashing, dash attacks, etc and how to make the game playable. Everythign factor 5 has done except thing srelating to tech, sound and tiefighter has sucked. How is this a surprise?Master__Shake
rogue squadron for gamecube DID NOT suck controls included....
I just believe from this point on, all PS3 games should have a difficulty level called "DUMB AS ****" so the reviewers can handle the controls anyway they want to.
They should even be allowed to zigzag the flying path of a dragon--a beast of serveral thousands pound, although in the Real World bound by physics laws a little bird can't do the zigzag sharp turns in the sky.
The combat itself seems boring. Ill never get this game. If gamespot gave it a 4.5 they are correct.
i dont hear people complaining bout the sixaxis controls on warhawk? jdmb13probably because that game has a better control with the sixaxis
i really wanted this game to be good but that controls are just complete crap, i have never had a hard time with controls but this game sometimes just wants to make me throw my controller, i use the sixaxis in warhawk and do not have any problems like i have in lair.etbny22
WATCH THE VIDEO!!!!!!!! I was put off buying Lair because of all the scores, the this has made me want it again. Play were closer to the mark with 9/10 than GS with 4.5 . I still have to wait a montyh and a half to get it in the UK, though, sadly.
yeah man! im getting mine today!
and to those complaining that lair doesnt control like warhawk, thats obvious. to expect a DRAGON to fly like a FIGHTER JET is ridiculous. which one is gonna be more responsive? the dragon, which has a mind of its own, or a computer controlled airplane? thats what i thought.

I also agree.
This pretty much proves that reviews are dumb, they seem to forget that your flying a dragon with a guy sitting on top like on a horse and not a warhawk with a guy safe in the cockpit, by sheer logic these controls are right... Dare i even say... Dragon Sim...?gekidami
you know...controls weren't the only point of complaint for the masses of reviewers. you should read a review or two.

What else wre their complaints? Bad camera? Pssh we have had bad camera issues since after mario 64 so what, and evn then its not bad.Seems like a lame point to make. I mean I think that if the game is bad, its bad....just deal with itTmills_basicIts not bad though, thats the point I am trying to make. The reviewers are wrong, Im trying to point out how much they do not know about games. And yes thats right I am saying everyone who rated this piss poor without fully analyzing the entire game does not know games.

Or probably because most people don't use it!

actually its about 50/50. you can tell the sixaxis guys too because their aim is damn amazing in dogfightsI really, really want to play Lair. But given the amount of negativity I'll have to rent before I play. I love the idea of using Sixaxis to control flight, and based on that video, it doesn't look near as hard as the review here made it out to be.same

i think a misconception is that the controls are the worst part and they aren't its the gameplay and the lock on plus its hard to distinguish things because of the colour pallet and scale of everything. plus some of the controls are a bit unresponsive like the 180 turn.
also while i don't think the sixaxis is unplayable i personally believe that you'd have much more control with the analogue stick. i just don't understand why they didn't make that an option at the very least.

im having a blast with lair. gamespot gave it a 4.5? they gave obivilion a 9or something and i hated it. I decide if i game is good because im playing. i dont hear people complaining bout the sixaxis controls on warhawk? jdmb13
Warhawk Sixaxis controls aren't required. They aren't even default.
I have definately noticed since the 1.92 firmware update that the controls on Lair are more responsive, before the update, it took me 10 tries to get the dragon to do a 180 turn, after the update, however, I can nail the 180 every time. I am having a blast with this game, anyone who forms their opinion off of someone else's opinionwho they don't even know is a tool. Sixaxis controls are programmed to behave as if you're a rider on the back of a multi-ton fire breathing, wing flapping scaly dragon, not in the cockpit of a freaking F-22. Graphics, gameplay, sound, immersion all rock with this game, and you can play it remotely over the PSP. swordfish_64
its cool that its become easier for you but i am still not sure that the firmware did anything to lair, plus if they did im sure sony or factor 5 would have said something already.
why would sony fix lair controls anyways, and no one else has mentioned any change to sixaxis except people playing layer so im guessing that the firmware did nothing to the sixaxis.
personally the controls mostly frustrate and bore me i just really wish i could use the analogue stick instead but its not like its unplayable.
also if they wanted to make you feel like your controlling the dragon with the controller they should have done more of the flipping 180 and boosting type control where your pulling the dragons reigns as opposed to just tilting the controller in a direction i would have enjoyed that more then what they gave us.
people who are unsure of this game should rent it, it may be for you it may not but there is no real harm in at least trying it out.
all they have to do is update the game making the dragon more controllable with the sixaxis. im sure they are working on it, atleast they should be.
even if they dont ill end up getting it, honestly how is the game a 4.5 JUST because of this SUPPOSEDLY "laggy" or "bad" sixaxis controls?

people read the reviews and took what they wanted from them personally i think they are useless but the games sixaxis control aren't the only complaints it does get repetitive and the lock on system isn't so great in my opinion.
i would just recomend renting it first test it out if its good go buy it. and if you beat it in that amount of time well then you saved yourself a good pocket of money so win win situation
Wow...If GS says something it must be true, right? Congrats coolguy681 that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard and I've heard some stupid crap. Don't be sheep and go with the herd but with a name like coolguy six hundred and eighty one you don't seem very original. The combat itself seems boring. Ill never get this game. If gamespot gave it a 4.5 they are correct.

This game is the first PS3 game which can be played via remote play over the internet, I don't see Sony or anyone else advertising that either, all I know is the controls are much more responsive today and the 180 is much easier to pull off after the fw update than before.
Great vid... See, if you just relax and take your time with the control, LAIR plays fine and it is an exciting game. Not as bad as everyone else said. Thomas-Crown
Combat is dry man.
