saying that lara croft is a legend is exactly right, but u have to think about it like this: super, amazing, fine-as-hell, english speaking explorer aka lara VS. oridnary slacker, drake. Who do you want to play as?
But Drake could be just like Indiana Jones, if they wanted him to..........

Actually with that description, I would definitely choose Drake. Much more interesting to play as the "underdog."
The way I look at it is that Uncharted was a better game than any Tomb Raider game. The only truely good TR game was the first one, Anniversary was decent, the rest are either horrible or mediocre. As I said before, Lara is just such an unbelievable character (and not in a good way) and regardless of the skills given to her in the game, it is just too fake. I could see Drake as a real person with a lot of luck. As we've seen in the TR movies, Lara can't be portrayed as anything believable, and based on the 2nd movie, she needs to go into hibernation forever.
I have no expectations for the next Tomb Raider game, and expect it to fail based on past experience. By fail, I mean I don't believe it will be a good game (I consider "decent" games a failure, as I don't believe any developer starts out making a game thinking "I wonder how average we can make this thing?"). I do, however, have very high hopes for Uncharted 2 and expect it to be great.
I guess to be fair though, Uncharted does have a good developer backing it up, unlike Tomb Raider. What has Crystal Dynamics done recently that's really good? Last good game I can think of they did was Soul Reaver 2, and that was 6-7 years ago.
I know most of this seems off-topic. However, the way I look at is, whowever has the best games is the best adventurer. So I will compare Uncharted to Tomb Raider 1 (or 2, two best of the series). Uncharted by a mile, so Drake wins, in my opinion.
