launch craziness: PS2 = PS3 or more worst

yo PS3 fanboys! last 2000/1 PS2 launch, was the reception the same, lots of craziness, ranting, displeasure, criticism and talking against PS2 like what we've seen with PS3? was it more humane or much worst than now. tnx.

yes this is very reminisent of the ps2 launch, but may i remind u that the ps2 is the most succesful system ever. sold most systems, has the most games. so if anything i dont mind that this is the same as last launch. infact i cant wait untill ps3 has momentum and kills 360

Thank you for clarifying the TC post. Also, the PS3 is selling faster that then PS2 did, and its still not out in PAL, nor are the March titles here yet (duh)

Dear god, this guy sounds like one of those pop up ads or something. PS3 LAUNCH!!! ONLY NOW!!! SUPER FUN!!! CRITICISM!!! DID IT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE!?!?! Anyways, not to poke fun, but I guess what he wants us to do is compare the PS2 launch to the PS3 launch. For me, I'd say it's no different, at least so far. It's a new console with different features, but I waited quite a while to pick up a PS2 because of the lack of them in all the stores. Sound familiar? And I heard news reports of them being sold on Ebay for thousands of dollars...hmmmm.. So I guess history repeats itself :P

To me aleast it seems the same.. the PS2 got lots of flack before it launched it took a year before it really got going.. the launch titles were poor.. although here in Europe the PS3 launch line up is much better which makes a change.. and everyone was saying the PS2 will fail because it was using DVD and it cost to much blah blah prity much everything that is being said about PS3, 7 years on and look where PS2 is.. 7 years from now we will see just where PS3 is.

Last gen PS2 didn't have competition until around 18 months later.

Last gen PS2 didn't have competition until around 18 months later.

I guess Dreamcast doesn't count as competition.

It could be the same as the PS2 launch, EXCEPT for the fact that the PS2 didn't just start stacking on shelves in stores due to the lack of interest after two months from it's launch date. IIRC, at this period the PS2 would still be hard to find.
