LBP Online.... Epic Fail!!

The servers went up today and only one word describes the experience... LAG! Some cool levels tho--- some really stupid ones too... in the hour i cruised around before i got sick of the lag i counted 6 levels that simply advertised 4 trophies... played two levels that you couldn't beat (got stuck or no way to progress), and i tried to enter roughly 10 levels, but the game locked up before i could get in... Great game, but for one made to be on-line, it is REALLY BAD!!!

P.S. I know the game isn't really out yet, and that could account for some of the issues but still, hours from launch and its this bad? Lets pray for a patch, because this game really is fun, id hate to see it go down in flames because the online stuff couldnt get worked out!

i just hope they kept my level :? put alot of hours into it and made sure it was as good as possible.

In terms of user levels being unfinishable, it's obvious it'll happen if they don'r test the level properly. All you have to do is identify the people who put alot of care into their levels and subscribe to them.

During the beta, I noticed that ocassionally the lag was pretty bad when watching other online players... they would seem to teleport all over the place... sometimes it would be fine though. My sackboy seemed to be pretty constant regardless of the lag of the other players. It could also just be the other player's connection to the internet or yours.

Anyone who has done much work with large-load servers know the damned things almost never work right in the beginning. Getting the balancing just right, and spreading the load out takes tweaking. Simple as that.

Yes, the lag right now can be annoying, but a nuclear war could not pry me away from this game... a bit of lag that I KNOW will be fixed in a few days isn't even going to make me blink.

Oh boy, I remember that. They never did fully fix it for a long time. I'd say even 3 months after the game came out I was still seeing lag-related problems. Example= shooting a guy three times in the head, bloody spray and all, and him running away unharmed.

HAHA omg i remember tht! me and my friends got it like the first day and we booted it up on his 120 inch HD projector...we tried to get into a match online... we ended up sitting there for like 40 mins just talking...lol! we ended up watchign a movie... -.-

to TC jus give it time... nothing ever works right in the beggining when it come to online games... with all my games..i never play online when i first buy them... no point.. i know its gonna be bad... i always give it at least like a week... then i go back...

The point is the online was very bad for an 'online based game'

Well look at it this way. The game JUST came out and is widely popular so this type of lag is expected. I mean Halo 3 had servers crash, Warhammer and WoW had servers crash. When a highly anticipated game with online launches the first day or even week it's expected to have issues. Give it time I'm sure things will improve.

Trust me as good as LIVE is it has it's share of downtime too. Halo 3 was impossible to get on day one as was CoD4. I still suggest getting a 360 but to compliment your PS3.
