I live in a tropical climate, open air living room, ps3slim with additional notebook fan/cooler, download burnout paradise... 3gb something in size...take a break every 3 hour for 1hr and sipping pina colada.... everything is alright....such a paradise.....hahahaha.......

I've left it on overnight a few times and nothing bad happened so you'll be OK as long as you don't have a heated blanket covering it or something

I haven't shut my 60 gig system down in a little over three years now without a single hardware problem. Sometimes there is glitches with software that forces me to restart the system.

Im confused, do you mean to say that you've left it on for 3 years without hitting the off switch?

As long as you've got it set up to where it can get plenty of air there shouldn't be a problem.

I took that to mean he's had it actively running for three years. Could be mistaken though.

No worries, I've left mine on for days (damn Disgaea3 item world and my lack of free time). The PS3 is still running perfectly, I wouldn't worry about this so much.

I once used a carrier bag as a dusk cover because I was away for a week, I totally forgot when back & hit the ps button to play GOW3, 20 minutes in the fan went mental, I mean the loudest ever, I crapped myself, but the system survived, phew. You'll be fine, seriously.

Slim's seem to be pretty reliable for extremely long periods of time so you should be fine. On the other hand, if it was a older model.....

I downloaded the DC Universe Beta 15GB So my PS3 120 Slim survived. I wouldn't do that with a PS3 phat. But a slim is O.k

My slim has stayed powered up pretty much since day-one, I never power it down... No issues.

actually there is an auto-off feature on the ps3, if i am not mistaken the option for it could be found under power-save settings, with this setting ob the ps3 turns itself off after 4 hours of inactivity, maybe you could try that...

I would suggest doing everything you can to take the best care of your PS3, leaving it on overnight is not one of them.

Make sure it is not closed in a cabinet like and entertainment center so it can breath and you should be fine.
