Today in an interview Mark Rein of Epic says he doesn't know if the fans want mouse+kb support in UT3 (www.joystiq.com). Please e-mail him that you do or you won't buy the game:
i thought he said that if you plug in a usb keyboard and mouse in the ps3 then you should be able to play it like that if youre an avid player of the other games.ive emailed him about it anyway

Cross-platform would be fun. There would be a sh*tload of people online and there would be tooonnnns of mods. Thats true but things are more fastpaced using keyboard and mouse so people using sixaxis would probably be at a disadvantage.

Whoever said Sony needs to change their controller is crazy, those controls are only good for FPS and TPS that it besides that everything else feels funny, Sony has used the same controllers for 3 generations now they work perfect and so what if they're not the best for FPS, the only reason MS probably made their 360 controller like that so it wouldn look likethe sames as the Sony controller.

^^^ thank you!! lol..... but then again it would be alot of cash to get a PC's specs high enough to run it...i actually think the PS3 controllers are fine for FPS and TPS... i think they are the best controllers out of all of them... i have no problem with the analog sticks during FPS and TPS games... but my thumbs are not very big lol but u guyz get my point

Exactly! Thats why people want keyboard and mouse controls. Still, theres the fragfx which is a keyboard and mouse controller that the ps3 recognizes as a sixaxis. It works pretty good. The ps3s sixaxis has looser sticks than the original dual shock and ds2. Exactly why aiming is a bit more difficult on the ps3. But don't tell people to go to their pcs if they want keyboard and mouse, when they paid a good amount for a ps3 and they should get their moneys worth.

They actually did. I watched a gamespot preview early last year and they talked about letting ps3 users use keyboard and mouse. Though mods weren't announced till this year for the ps3.

If I wanted the PC version I would buy it. Thiswill die most PS3 gamers are happy sitting on there couch with controller in hand.

wow. consoleboys. have any of you ever played a pc game? keyboard and mouse is THE ULTIMATE configuration for first person shooters. we would all get f'd in the a if there was crossplatofrm support. im getting it for pc and ps3 so it really doesnt matter to me though.
i do agree with your effort even though all these people have made it ultimately futile.

it does seem weird playing a ps3 game with a mouse and keyboard since most people dont play it in front of a flat surface where you can put the peripherals. but i have my ps3 hooked up to my 21 in hd computer monitor so it works for me.
im gonna laugh when they do include mouse+kb and crossplatform with pc. everyone who said it doesnt matter is going to get destroyed and switch to mouse+kb
I'm with you. I just got an email back from Mark linking me to this thread on their official forums, in which they confirm that they will indeed support kb+mouse:

lol the fragfx does look pretty cool but i personally prefer the sixaxis for myself but if people want keyboard and mouse support then they should definitely add that feature

I so want to own you guys that love the controller over a kb/mouse:lol: I understand you may prefer a controller over a mouse/kb, but to say it is better that is ridiculous. By the time you do a quarter turn in a fps, i wll to a 360 w/a mouse. And will aim so much better. When I get UT3, i hope there will be a server where controller vs. kb/mouse. I will absolutly love to frag you controller guys. Also I dont feel like upgrading my cpu right now or in near future. That's why the ps3 version sounds like the good buy. I have a cpu that I play Battlefield 2 and 2142 religiously, but if i put crysis or UT3 in my computer, it will probably explode. Plus i dont want nothing to do w/vista until the service pack comes out. And by all signs on the net UT3 on PS3 sounds almost equivilant to the PC version. And mod support on consoles:shock:, man I will be playing UT3 on PS3 for the next 2 years.
Why the hate towards people wanting KB+M on the ps3?
No one goes around bashing people that want a Logitech racing wheel for GT or Hori stick for VF5 or Saitek X52 for a flight sim.
KB + M is just another way to play a game, if the PC can use a game pad to play their games why can't a console use a KB+M.
The PS3 can support KB+M then why not use the function for a game? Unfair towards gamepad users you say but developers can go around when they develop the server system.

I want a mouse and keyboard for this game, because I prefer the precision you get with it over a joypad. You can tell me to buy the PC version but if you want to give me £600 to build a new pc good enough to run it, then please do so.
What difference does it make if they do include it? I'm sure there will be separate servers for sixaxis only and mouse and keyboard only.

A bunch of ya are fools! Yes you are. Indeed a lot of console gamers prefer a controller than kb/m but it's always good to have the OPTION. How can you say no to that? Also it would boost the PS3 port sales (not necessarily much) since people like me who don't wanna spend 100 dollar (and for some 300$) extra to upgrade my graphics card. Atm the PC version is the better version since it includes the mod editor thingy. Now fools, support kb/m unless your a bunch of chickens who's gonna blame your deaths on people using kb/m while you use a controller.
