It seems like a lot of forces are conspiring to make PS3 owners wring their sweaty hands together.. bad press reports, loss of some exclusives, 360 fanboys... and it's true. There have been some stumbling blocks with this launch.

But I couldn't be more excited to be a PS3 owner. Think of the leap between mid-cycle PS1 games and mid-cycle PS2 games. That leap is coming again, possibly more dramatically this time. Upcoming first party games: Heavenly Sword, Lair, Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo 5, God of War III, Uncharted, Killzone, Getaway, Warhawk... and even more exciting is the raft of announcement Sony has yet to make at E3, when the second generation of PS3 software starts to hit. Plus with innovations like Home and LittleBigPlanet, within the first year of the PS3's life, who knows what they'll be able to come up with two and three years down the road?

To be honest, I think a lot of the speculation is coming from anxious 360 owners who see a system that is a lot more powerful than theirs and could end up dwarfing what MS is able to accomplish. That's why they're jumping all over the giant as it tries to gain it's feet. But regardless, that's my opinion, and I think we all as PS3 owners have just got to relax about the situation. Historically, you can't judge a console within the first six months of it's life cycle, especially not Sony consoles which have a habit of lasting upwards of seven years. Let's just all rise above the bullsh*t on these and other boards.

OH MY GOD IM SO HAPPY! BOOOOO HOO! Yeah, those first-party titles are absolutely superb and it is good that we will get to experience all of them without regards to how the market or how 360 owners respond to the PS3. It will take a serious job to win over the crowds, and that is what I am losing confidence in Sony's ability to do. At least I won't get bored. After...summer, at least.

No it seems like he has a pretty clear idea of what is actually going to happen. And I agree with him.

I could care less what the others think and more then happy with my PS3 which I can't say for my 360 which is now sold. As long as the games I want to play are on the PS3, I don't care who else gets them as all I care about when I'm gaming is ME. The hell with the "fanboys".

I agree with everything you've said and it's a shame a few idiots are trying to turn this thread into a system wars thread. Remember my friend the easiest vehicle to purchase in the world is a "BAND WAGON" and the "anti-sony/PS3 band wagon" seems to be rolling on. F*** the begrudgers

Actually, my bad for including stuff about it being more powerful than the 360... I'm not saying that's what's gonna happen, but I think that may be where the rabid 360 fanboy-ism comes from.

I love the dudes crying at the speech though. A well-deserved mockery of what might have come off as an overly dramatic speech. And the dude is absolutely right that I have anxiety... this was intended for me as well. I think we all have anxiety, am I wrong? We just made a huge investment, most of us are pretty young and don't have buckets of money, and now people are calling for its downfall left, right and centre?

Point is, all this is short-sighted. Just as an example - let's just compare Shadow of the Colossus to something like Crash Bandicoot... I mean, my God, man - this stuff has come sooo far. We really haven't noticed it cuz it's happened gradually, but imagine what we'll be playing when that leap can happen between SOTC and a PS3 game. You can't even wrap your head around.

Anyway, long story short, this should be the best time of your game-playing life. F*ck the beef, let's just enjoy this completely oh-some system.
