No matter how unlikely this is, even the thought of it scares the hell outta me.

I don't know what to think yet or what the likeliness is but it is a scary thought. Thoughts guys?

LG? Nothing is going to happen, besides there are already threats about this (just use the search). Also, I love the fact that LG has waited 4 and a half years before attempting anything like this.

They're only doing it now, after 4 years, because Sony has their panties in a bunch of late and wants to attack everyone (including their own loyal followers). Sony needs to remember that it's partnerships with these other electronics companies are what helped Blu win the format war. What people fail to realize is LG is just a small part of a much larger corporation, a corporation with deeper pockets than Sony could ever hope to achieve.

If they manage to get the upper hand on Sony they will probably ask for a hefty sum of money to compensate trouble and time. I doubt LG has direct interests on getting the PS3 out of the market. We've seen these kinds of news before, they always end with some sort of transaction that is more than often left private for the general public.

Bah Nintendo got sued for their use of montion control and that didn't go anywhere either. The time to get away with this in court is long past due. Its not like the PS3 just came out and LG is shocked, this is a revenge suit that will result in a settlement at worst, the sooner release of the PS4 at best. Although I could be wrong, I'm not the slightest bit worried for Sony or PS3 in general.

Here is what I wrote in the previous thread [QUOTE="funsohng"]LG suing Sony thing? You know they are already on like 12 cases against each other right? These disputes usually end in compromise. It's usually a business method of trying to constrain rival companies. Besides, LG didn't attack "PS3" specifically, they just targeted certain blu-ray technology that happened to be being used on PS3. Sony sued LG in 5 cases, and LG sued Sony in 8 cases for now, I think. Here's the link. One thing I hope doesn't happen is that some blind fanboys start hating LG (and Korea as a whole by generalizing) with this.

and yes, LG is extremely big. Its electronics sector is already ahead of Sony, second only to Samsung (which is.... one of the biggest conglomerate group in the world), and if you add in the Display (which is separate from Elctronics), chemical research, construction, and countless other sectors, LG is pretty big.
