Why is Square Enix so obsessed with the FF13 "series"?
AvatarMan96
Because they're stubborn idiots that don't know how to make good games any more. Instead they would rather cram the most hated FF game down our throats for the third time as their way of convincing themselves that FFXIII wasn't a failure.

Yeah, I feel that SE has invested themselves so deeply into building brand around FFXIII that they aren't allowing themselves to back out...that said the games are still selling really well so I guess it doesn't matter what we say as clearly SOMEONE is buying these games.Link is not working anymore. But yeah looks pretty sweet. I loved FFXIII and didn't enjoy FFXIII-2 much, I'm happy they're focusing on Lightning again and I'm looking forward to this game.
Mainly because it's an already created universe for this gen. of consoles and the developing time required to make a sequel is signficantly shorter than making a new I.P (or as new as an I.P a new Final Fantasy could possibly be). That's my opinion on it, anyway. Why is Square Enix so obsessed with the FF13 "series"?

Ignoring that, who cares about Lightning? She was nothing special in the first game, barely in the second, now we are supposed to be excited about her return? Why is Square Enix so obsessed with the FF13 "series"?
