The 60GB is still expensive to move the PS3 to people's home. I can guarantee that the 60GB won't be sold out unless they drop the price also. It's true that the 60GB is a better buy, but it doesn't really make sense for an average person to spend more for something they would hardly use like an extra usb, card reader and BC. Most people that will buy the PS3 already have a PS2 at home so why would they pay an extra $100 (USA) for something they don't need? PS3 is made for next generation games and not for an older generation games.

For the whiners out there, you guys better hope Sony will sell more PS3 'cause if not, you will be left with a Blu-Ray player instead. Cheaper version is the way to go regardless of what's included or not with the system ( you can still play PS3 games damn it!).

And I thought you were going to start a "60 vs. 40 battle"

In other news, the 40 gig will sell....craploads.

That is all.

I personally dislike the 40gig losing some stuff...

I'm okay with the no B/C but the other stuff is uncalled for... Those items just don't cost that much to be eliminated...

I'm waiting for a price drop on the 60 gig or a fully equip PS3 40 gig...

In the case for Sony, I bet a lot of casual people not knowing the spec difference will buy the 40 gig... Good move for Sony I guess?

I'm just glad I still got my 60gig from shortly after launch, and I believe (my opinion) that its the best option for the price.

Disagree. The 60GB unit is the model for me.

Extra USB? Why not

Card reader? I actually do use this. Nothing like showing family vacation pictures from Miami to friends on my PS3 and 52" Sharp Aquos TV in all its 1080p glory.

BC? Heck yea. I didn't have a PS2. The fact that it's hardware emulation with an EE chip to ensure maximum BC makes it all the better.

Wifi? Heck yea.

60GB drive? I'd prefer 80 but I can easily swap this out for a much larger one later on.

$200 more? Well worth it to have had a 60GB model in my entertainment rack since February of this year.

So yea, the $400 model may be the mainline model but I am beyond happy with my 60GB version.

I'm not sure why you mentioned the wifi difference, doesn't the 40 gig have wifi too?

The $400 model is a great idea for sony because it allows people to experience next gen gaming without removing anything that affects the playability of the ps3 games.
