linux installation help

ok i burned the file to a dvd because i downloaded it offline, and i did all the backing up and shtuff. when i go the "install other os" option thing, it says it cant find the aplicable source or something, and every sub-section such as "music" has the words "dvd data disc" under neithe them. what do i do?

Here's some links.  It might not be seeing the boot loader it needs.  As I haven't done it yet (I'm working on it myself) I don't really know much from experience.

Did you burn the file as an .iso? You have to do that for it to work.  Try CD Burner XP Pro to burn .iso files.  Just buring a data cd and plopping the .iso in there will not work.
