FF13. NEVER. EVER. GOING. BACK. TO THAT GAME!
The whole game is one big grind to get to the "good" part which never actually happens.
The game itself is great, but the Deep Roads in Dragon Age: Origins were a major grindfest. So many spiders and darkspawn in so many dark tunnels.
The Malebolge in Dante's Inferno. It's like the developers gave up in the end and said "Here's a bunch of stupid challenges for you to do."
Final Fantasy XIII immediately comes to mind, the ending segments of the game were almost entirely comprised of grinding. There was some fantastic looking scenery though to offset that though.
*is glad he sold ff13 before playing* -Yakuza (3 or 4, maybe the new one...) -Red dead redemption -Grand theft auto 4 (5 million xp dollars...and 200 pigeons wtf) -No more heroes hero's paradise (not that bad if you played before ;) ) -La Noire (Yet to play...but I know what I'm in for)masterds64
L.A. Noire is actually pretty short and not much to collect except clues (which are part of the cases). There really isn't much grinding or collecting at all. It's NOTHING like Red Dead or Grand Theft Auto in that regard.
GT5 requires a lot of grinding. Its fun at first, but gets really annoying over time.JohnnyWPSP
This for me as well. At least if you're talking about going for the platinum FOREGET ABOUT THAT.
I'll still play it once in awhile, but I'm forgetting about leveling up B-spec, and forgetting about 24 hour races as well (at least unless they update it to be able to save somehow).

The B-Spec is where you win all of the cars you need to beat the game with ease. I can understand not engaging the 24hr races, but coaching B-Spec was easy, fun (as well as educational), and it made the rest of the game fall in line quickly. If you want to spank GT5, that's the way you do it, folks. I'm not criticizing anyone, just passing along a little helpful tip incase you still want the plat. I never had to grind. Not once.
:)
I grinded on so many games i can't pick a grind game. I can pick an annoying collectible trophy. Collecting all Infamous 300 blast shards was annoying especially finding the last 2 lol.
Funny, I loved the grinding in FFXIII. I'd say LA Noire (5 stars) and RDR (max multiplayer level) so far.

Not really, do 2 seasonal events and thats a million in your pocket. B-Spec 24hr races are easy, just give them a way over-powered car, and go watch TV or do something else. The AI pits automatically and chooses tires, really not alot to do.
I'd say GT5 was the worst. I don't mind grinding if I'm trying to platinum a game, or if I'm levelling up my character in an RPG to the point where boss fights will be a piece of cake, but to have all that freakin' grinding just to make it through the career mode of a game, that's pitiful. I played GT4 for 6 months and did B-spec for maybe an hour. In GT5 I did a ton of B-spec just because grinding was so damned boring that I figured it would be worth it to get my B-spec guys to do it for me. And the fact that there were barely any new tracks that weren't in GT4 or 5 Prologue just made it all the more tedious.

Definitely Gran Turismo 5. B-Spec mode is just terrible when it comes to grinding.

LOL. The issue with the 24 hour or b-spec races is obviously not the "difficulty". Even in the shorter endurance races playing single player you can overtune your car and lap the competition who knows how many times. It's a joke, so I'm sure the same joke applies to b-spec. The issue is that they are real time and actually take 24 hours without being able to turn your console off. I'm not leaving my PS3 on for 24+ hours straight and risk burning it out just for that nonsense. Why would I want to leave my PS3 on that long and then go "do something else"? Does that make any sense whatsoever? I'd rather just play another game, or let my PS3 power down at night...
I was not aware they finally added seasonal events to b-spec, but either way it's still silly to even bother with that horrible mode at all. Likewise I don't see myself doing the full 24 races on single player either, for the same reason. I don't want to leave my PS3 on for days at a time in order to complete it.

Hows that well said?
My PS3 has not burnt out for a 24hr race or anything. Its just 1 day, most workplace computers are on for a whole day? do they burn out?
