I have LBP. And it's not that great. Idk what the hype was all about. Yeaaah yeah, you get to customize the **** out of everything. So what? It's not that fun. I played it. And it was fun for a couple days. And then it got old REALLY fast. I'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't like LBP. I don't understand how people are getting so hyped up for the 2nd one. There's no fun in the game in my opinion lol.
I only really enjoyed it when I was playing online. The physics are good, but they are all over the place. For a platformer the jumping is way too loose and there are too many segments that you have to time perfectly to avoid a controller-throwing rage. Of course, I was mostly frustrated because I just wanted to get through it and wasn't really into it enough to concentrate. lol. I like the sackboy and the customization options, but the game itself left a lot to be desired unless you are sharing your humiliation with friends. The only reason I'm anticipating the second one is the fact that you can go beyond the platforming and create completely different game types.
It definitely isnt perfect, but its really fun in the later levels and even more so in the great user levels. Playing with friends is indeed more fun. LBP isnt great because it handles amazing and has a good story or anything like that, its great because of the environment (which makes it require skill) and how crazy things can get. LBP2 will be better no doubt, and I will get it, but probably down the road as I am not as hyped for LBP2 as I am 20 other games coming out next year :P. Oh and I need a 3DS and a new graphics card :P....too much stuff and not enough money :(.
Well it wasn't my type of game either but it is a fun game, just that it didn't click with me. Im thinking about about getting LBP2 considering it looks like it will have a lot more content and improved gameplay.
Overrated to what capacity? That game was made in the same vain as games like Katamari Damacy. They're not fun if you're playing by yourself. They're fun with a group of people. And if you're not really into playing "party" games, so to speak, then it should be avoided altogether. But for gamers who like those kind of games, it's great.
Can't argue with that. It's a fun game, but it gets old fast and many of the core mechanics are not that satisfying. For a game based on platforming, the platforming in LBP is not very good. Even after patching it's remained floaty and imprecise, with a level of jank added courtesy of the three-layer depth the levels have. Some of the levels are very inventive and the music is nice, but even the best of the user created stuff still just feels like more of the same and you're still saddled with the same mediocre platforming the whole way through. I have hopes for LBP2, but user content means nothing if the core game isn't great - doubly so given the scope of the second game. Yes, we'll be able to make top down racers and dual-joystick shooters as well as platformers, but if the mechanics for those are kind of janky then I can't see myself wanting to play different variants of that.
I fully agree with op. LbP gets old real quick. The fact I got drawn into the hype & over paid for the game makes me resent it even more. If you want to customise & play, buy Modnation.
Some people here are just lacking in creativity and imagination to really understand the game. From making mini games to remakes of your favorite sidescroller games. From Contra and music stages to Mirrors Edge and Silent Hill, I've seen so many things that make this a truly epic experience for those who can think out side the box when it comes to playing games. I'm one of em so i cant wait for LBP2 to hit.

Katamari games are great playing solo. LBP isn't that great regardless of how many people you're playing with. Physics are faulty, and i don't find that fun.

I'm pretty sure he's asking if your name is a reference to the New Orleans Saints, no reason to be rude. I thought the game was fun, but in the same way a coffee-table book is. I can't put in long playing sessions on it, but it's fun with friends and when I'm taking a break from other games.

it looks cute but i would never have gotten it at all if it wasnt for the fact that i tried the demo with my bf its a great co up game i havent played it alone and im not planning to if thats what u did then...well...get some friends over and ull enjoy it way more so in style and co up wise its not overated, but its not above a 9 in my book in anyway
I haven't played LBP or the demo for LBP2 but isn't overrated a bit much? I mean that is just an opinionated statement that you've made. I understand if you don't like it though.
the game requires a certain level of creativity to consider "fun". the game was all out great imo. it has a plethora of gameplay varieties (because you can create them). but a game isn't "overrated" just because you can't enjoy it. LBP just might not be your type of game. It is a sidescrolling platformer (old school video game gameplay right there). The fun stops where your imagination does.
The Little Big Planet community would disagree with you, TC. There are a lot of people having a lot fun creating, sharing, and playing the user created levels.
If you're not going to use the creation tools, then it's really not a worthwhile game.

Never ceases to amaze me how people can't get into something that doesn't have violence built into it.
It is great in terms of creatablive and content, building levels, collectable, trophies etc... But on a gameplay stand point, it is terrible. The controls are horrible, it makes the easiest levels harder due to bad jumps. ive always wondered how people can over look the most important part of a game, the gameplay. Bad gameplay make a bad game IMO.
