Getting my PS3 tonight along with one game, I think I have it narrowed down to LBP or Killzone. Which should I get?

I think Little Big Planet is more my type of game, I love level editors in games and it essentially has infinite replay value because of it, but Killzone looks pretty sick and a good online FPS is important, but I'm also getting Modern Warfare 2 and MAG down the road too. What do you think?

Dont gett LBP!!!! Trust me you're going to regret it. I was so hype for that game back in september and it turn out to be the greatest disapointment. LBP's online is still very laggy. KZ2 is awsome, has lagg free online, and did I say it is awsome? You should think about geating UNCHARTED and GTA4

Well LBP planet is cute and has replay value but the main campaign has alot to be desired. Killzone 2 has a decent campaign not sure about MP but I have heared that it is great. I really don't play either much. I just play LBP to break up the monotony of shooting games. The one issue I have with Killzone 2 are thatthe controlsjust are not too accurate at least for campaign. Makes the game a chore otherwise the game is fantastic(graphics, realistic feel). I believe though that they have patched the control issue for muliplayer. So I guess if you had to go with one of them I would probably decide if you are going to create levels in LBP. If you aren't go with Killzone 2 as it sounds like the online experience is fantastic. Does anyone know if they are going to patch the control issue for single player campaign also?

I'd definitely be creating levels frequently, I'd try to get through the story as quickly as possible to unlock more options for it. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to that kind of stuff. I'd probably spend hours and hours trying to create some cool levels.

No they are serious... sorry to say but LBP got boring really quick... you need to play it with a friend to get its full value... SERIOUSLY

But its a cool game, making levels and stuff...

Kz2 is fun, if u suck at fps dont get it cuz u'll be pissed like those kids who play Halo3

Yeah LBP can get boring, but if you have someone to play with it is amazing. I love the game personally and it is a great addition to a collection. Killzone 2 is also a must buy. Once you go to get more games though I highly highly recommend these: 1. MGS4 (will be a greatest hit on the 16th for $30) 2. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (comes with the 160GB) 3. inFAMOUS 4. Resistance 2 (the first one should come with you 80gig along with motorstorm in a bundle)

Haha thanks for the tip, I was never really good at Halo, it just pissed me off everytime I played. lol

I could get inFAMOUS too. Although I'm a little worried on the replay value.

You can go to Target and buy 2 games, and you will get the 3rd for free. Buy LBP, KZ2, and get some other $60 game for free.

inFamous should be your 3rd game. It does have replay value, it's an open (sand box) world (NYC like) You will play it at least twice. As a good, then as a bad guy.

LBP is one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I won't say anything about Killzone 2 because I've only played the demo.

I've just got both and both are addicting. If you've ever played CoD4 or 5I can tell you Killzone 2 is better in my opinion.

Well if you get Little Big Planet then you can download the Killzone 2 sackboy costumes.

That way you can play both games at the same time...just you know...minus the guns.:P But hey you can still kill your friends.:D

If you are looking for a mp online then i say Killzone 2. LBP is fun to play the online levels but it gets old after awhile. I guess some could say the same bout kz2 though as well. So i say it just depends on what your into more.

I would have to say get Little Big Planet, cuz Killzone 2 has an insanly short single player campain. I beat it in less than 5 hours, so I would have to say get LBP, because its an awesome game to play with friends, you can have four people on one system, and its just fun. Killzone Two, on the other hand, has no co-op, no split screen, and a handful of online maps. Meh..

How can u give LBP a score off of gameplay videos? Besides that I'd say either. LBP is very fun. Killzone 2 is also a quality title. It's different..but still good. The campaign is pretty weak but I played through it for the trophies..The multiplayer which gets some time to get use to, is awesome if u can get good at it and play without getting frustrated alot..

I had the same problem, but I ended up getting both.

I thought I would like Killzone 2 more, but it took me a couple of times just to get my ass off LBP to play it.

The campaign is pretty good, but you never feel for one characters when one dies lets say. The graphics and gameplay is pretty good but story is weak"er" but very thematic near the end.

The controls did not scare me away because I never played COD on the PS3 only on the PC and I just got used to the crouch button being L2. I never spent a lot of time on multiplayer because I was spending my time on LBP. I think I'm going to sell Killzone 2 I don't have time to Kill Helgast. Sacboy is too adorable with friends!

If you are going to create levels for LBP then get it because then you are probably going to really take advantage of the game's features. The best way to play is with friends so it's a plus if you have friends come over to play, it can get really funny. If you are going to get it only for the single player then its not really worth it but then again Killzone's single player is good but too short so its main cup is MP. Since you are getting other MP FPS games then you'll be better with LBP since that adds a little variety.

First off, I have to say: is it too much to get both? I mean, both are excellent games. LBP for it creativity, and Killzone for it's action. Now, if you can't get both right away, here's another question: which of these two genres do you prefer? FPS or Platformers? If you prefer FPS, go with Killzone, and get LBP later, But if you prefer platformers, get LBP now, and buy Killzone later. But like I said, both of these games are excellent, so wichever one you get first, I doubt you'll be dissapointed

I say get LBP especially if you're thinking its more your type of game. You can play locally with your friends if you get a second controller, the levels are a blast, and the editor is incredibly deep.

Killzone 2 is a great game too, but FPS games aren't my favorite genre. I've easily put in 3+ times as many hours into LBP than I have into Killzone 2.

-if u like making awsome levels and playing some other ones then lbp but for me it got old fast, also the campaign is fun and if u realy want to get all the stickers and stuff

-kilzone 2 has a good story and the mp is awsome and more people are playing it cause of the patch

but lbp is cheaper now

both are great but i think killzone is better

It depends what you want - if you want a game based around designing cracking levels, simply awesome offline co op fun (which even girls will play, thats right - real life girls, not the fake sort you get online :P) cute charm, chock a block full of personality, brimming with creativity and an experience unlike just about anything else on the market - go for LBP

If you want to play it safe, go for killzone - its a very good shooter with the best graphics on any console that should provide you with an adrenaline rush for pretty much the entire single player, and the general consensus on the forums seems to be recent patches have made it an amazing online game aswell. #
