http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/02/24/destination-playstation-news-littlebigplanet-motorstorm-rock-band-assassins-creed-more-coming-to-psp/

-"Publisher support for the PSP system will continue throughout the year with Rock Band Unplugged™, launching exclusively on PSP. MTV Games and Harmonix announced separately that gamers will be able to take Rock Band Unplugged on the road with the first ever portable version of the popular music and gaming experience. Rock Band Unplugged will take center stage as it leverages the PSP system's Wi-Fi capabilities and becomes the first PSP game to include a fully-featured in-game store for downloadable content in the North American and Europeans markets."

-"Assassin's Creed™ PSP Entertainment Pack – Ubisoft will debut an exclusive installment of the popular Assassin's Creed franchise on PSP later this year. To commemorate this highly anticipated title, SCEA will launch a new bundle that includes the game, a "Piano Black" PSP, and other content that will be announced later."

-"LittleBigPlanet – Developed in conjunction with MediaMolecule, the critically acclaimed game LittleBigPlanet makes its way to the PSP, offering new SackBoy™ adventures with the same play, create, share experience for gamers on-the-go, in addition to brand new levels and environments specifically created for the platform."

-"MotorStorm Arctic Edge – Developed by the award-winning Bigbig Studios, the team behind the best-selling Pursuit Force™ series, MotorStorm Arctic Edge sees the music, the festival and the brutal off-road racing arrive in the breathtaking yet lethal and unpredictable setting of Alaska. The game is also expected to hit the PlayStation 2 platform in Fall of 2009."

****************************************************************************************************************************************

^Looks like Sony are serious about the PSP in 2009 which is good news. Already looks a lot stronger than 2008.

And the naysayers will still say the PSP is dying. But 2009 looks even better now.

Is anyone going to get the Hannah Montana PSP bundle?

I'm personally excited to try LBP.

Even though I never thought the PSP dead, I'm glad to see someone else write that.

Sony is going all out this year for all their systems. They are definitely on the come up. I think by the end of 2009, i will have to buy another PSP. I had to sell it around Christmas time in 2007 for financial reasons (I'm in college lol). But I had the original PSP anyway, so it is time to upgrade, if I have the money for it. After the PS3 has an amazing year of games, I might go broke!

Hope one of these games (or some new IP Sony has up its sleeve) has the same effect that Monster Hunter has had in Japan, that's what could kickstart hardware sales in the west

Now all sony needs too do is get a RPG that gos online like Untoldlegens WC but make the lvl go up too 100-150 with sum co-op and pvp and that will set it off rite there. And that would boost the psp sky high.

This is the weirdest day in the histroy of the PSP. Too bad I already sold mine. Anyway I hope the GOW bundle prices drop because I definitely wanted it for a long time. Sony is finally biting back the Nintendogs!

Trash? Last I checked LBP (and I think Assassin's Creed too) on the PS3 got a 9.0. I wouldn't exactly call that trash, but to each his own I guess...

Assassin's Creed actually has a lot of detractors on some of the other forums. Apparently it's a solid game, but it can get quite repetitive. I'll still check it out though.

Well yeah I actually haven't played A.C. but I own LBP and it definitely deserves its 9.0.

PSP in 2009 is really looking good. We are talking about a great lineup of games this year that could just about match up to the rest of the PSP library to date. Star Ocean 2, Phantasy Star Portable, new Dynasty Warriors, Resistance: Retribution, MLB 09 (looks awsome), Patapon 2, Samuri Shodown Anthology, Prinny and Dissidia were already putting PSP into the promise land. Adding Little Big Planet, Assasins Creed, and Rock Band basicly puts the PSP on cloud 9. This gives a very key power to the PSP that it didn't have last year, good games in the late year for the holidays. Not to mention that the farther future is looking just as good with Agitio, Parisite Eve 3, Gran Turismo, and Kindom Hearts for the PSP in 2010. PSP is alive baby!!!!!! The only problem is that I'm going to have to get a second job to buy all of this.

Oh man..

Am I the only one who's wishing Arctic Edge comes out on PS3 too? Man, that would be FUN.

Also, the song in the trailer is Tick Tick Boom by The Hives.

LBP is the one I'm interested in. Its being built from the ground up, but they say they're keeping the play, create, share mechanic of the PS3 game. If they keep the mechanics working well enough, and it garners enough of a fan base it could end up really fun.

More news-

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/33388/New-IP-to-be-announced-for-PSPFollowing on from John Koller's bold statements about an exciting E3 for PS3, SCEE has told MCV that new IP will feature in the line-up.

"SCEA's director of hardware marketing John Koller said earlier that: "At Destination Playstation we announced about half of the line up for the PSP this year, some fairly major, triple-A titles are coming for the back half of the year that are going to be announced in the coming months and at E3."

And an SCEE spokesperson has added to MCV that "we'll be outlining the release of additional, new and existing IPs for the platform in the coming months".

Some are already calling this July's event as the PSP E3, and it's certainly an exciting time for Sony's battling machine, though whether a brand new machine (possibly without UMD drive and with touch screen) will or will not be debuted is still up for debate."

**************************************************************************************************************************************

So there's still some unannounced games for the PSP this year. I'm glad that Sony have kept their word on revitalising the PSP.
