I don't get it, what is it about this game. I've asked this question before to, until i became convinced by everyone that it's a good game. Now that LBP finally got a lowered price, i bought it and i only played about 1-2 hours before i went on to GameSpot. WTF??? I understand that i shouldn't base my purchases on others reviews of it, but damn, metacritic has a average of 95/100 on the game. How is it possible? All you do in the game, is play other peoples (mostly not-very-creative) games. Other things you do you ask? Well if you want to, you can make you're own :):):):):):), which is really hard and takes a lot of time (which soon becomes boring) :(:(:(:(:(:(:(. Anyone else feeling like this? I mean, it's definitely not worth 60$.

I think it's an excellent game, but its certainly not everyone's cup of proverbial tea. You are entitled to your own opinion.

But 60$ for something that seems like half-a-game.

No I'm gonna have to agree with Catus_mat in my opinion LBP is a great game, but I do agree that maybe it's not for everyones taste... When I first heard about LBP I was sceptical myself, but I now find it original and entertaining.

When I first got LBP, I played it for perhaps 2 hours and then shelved it for weeks. I picked it up again, played it for a little more and found the great game that was at first elusive. Give it some time, it can grow on you.

It is original and also entertaining (for the most owners), but i think reviews would've been a bit more helpful if they'd get an opinion of a gamer who doesn't like platform-games. It's like when Skate 2 got 7.5 on GameSpot (i think). The review was based on a gamers view, the type of gamer who earlier has review FPS's, TPS's, RPG's etc. For Skate 2 they should've gotten a Skaters perspective, or at least someone who likes skating. Same thing with LBP.

I do have to agree with you there if they asked someone who likes platformers to reveiw it and them someone who doesn't. Both sets of gamers would know whether to buy it or not. And nobody would have to waste their money.

The only problem I have with the game is that it is not long enough. In the beginning I did think what the big deal with this game but as I played on I really enjoyed it. Playing with someone makes it even better. The online stuff to me is n't special. I haven't seen any levels that people create that make it worth mentioning. It takes a lot of time and effort and that I don't have so I guess I miss out.

They should've at least have put in some more songs, or enabled it to play songs from the HDD while you use all of that time on setting up you're game.

This is ridiculous...it's a platform game. So, they review it as a platform game, and rate it as how it performs on those merits. If you don't like platformers, don't buy it, regardless of how someone rates it. Killzone 2 was great, it got rated great, personally, I couldn't care less what someone who doesn't like FPS thinks about it. Same thing for LBP...If you didn't like Platformers, and wanted to see what all the hype was about, you should've just rented it, or borrowed it from a friend.

Because, as far as platformers go, it's great. It has a decent single player, is a blast to play as a party game, and has endless replayability with user created levels (which many people like doing, even if you find the task daunting)

My only complaint would be that they release too much pointless DLC, endless costume packs...at least they keep those cheap...

I have found Little Big Planet very enjoyable, especially with friends trying to work together and solve puzzles.

I believe it's a social game and it's meant to play with others. When you play it solo, it could get bit on boring side if you're not much fond of platformers.

There really isn't anything wrong with the game, create, play and share. I'm enjoying it. :)

this is the only game i bought at full price, half a year after its release and EASILY one of my favorite games ever. DUDE, take the game online and play with 3 other people. its an even funner experience with everyone cooperating. just give it some time. itll definatly grow on you, you just have to keep an open mind and try to get out of the hardcoreness of the other games youve been playing.

man ive seen some levels that people created in the image of the "Aliens" movies and MAN some of those levels are just genius. theres some REALLY creative levels online, you just have to look. i also played a level where the creator has you go through the many ways you can destroy an Xbox360. i "ROFL-ed ;lol:" at this one soo much!

I do not agree with you.

Level creating is kinda long and complicated & gameplay is a bit limited.

That's about it, otherwise it's a very enjoyable game.

I agree with everyone about the awesome user-created levels. There are some MGS ones that were made before the MGS DLC was released that were better that the official stuff. You can just about find one for any cool action movie. There was even a Ghostbusters one with a huge Marshmellow man. Some people are just crazy creative. I, personally, wish creating levels was a little easier and a little less time consuming. To date I've only created one and never really finished. But that's really the fault of my severe ADD (f*ck this! On to the next game! Explosions! Explosions!!!!). Obviously, the poster's beef is with the core gameplay, though. Definately not for everyone. Some people, wether they know it or not, only enjoy shooters. Some only like sports/racing. Y'know? This may just not be your thing? But SO many other people LOVE it, and it definately deserves the ratings it got based on the innovation and ENDLESS gameplay if nothing else. With all the levels made to date you can play for over 5 years straight without playing the same one. That's fact.

All we're saying is that it would've been more helpful to a couple more gamers out there if they'd lend an opinion from another type of gamer rather within only platform-games.

It sure is a fun coop game, but i sadly don't own an additional controller and have no money for one right now. Also, if i'd start playing online, OMG THE LAAAG. Honestly it lags too much and i don't know why. My internet connection is about 7,5 mb/s and no other game reacts the same way. I don't know whether it's just me, my disc or my network.

Thank GOD !!!! I completely agree with you. This game is a 2D platformer where you csn create things using teddy bears. What is the fun in that?!! And then the ratings are unversally acclaimed around the world. What did I miss?

And that is why they should maybe consider putting in an opinion from somebody who doesn't always play 2d-games (i guess) and therefore doesn't always have something good to say about it, but rather keeps the review honest. Interesting though, the GameSpot review has nearly as many pros as cons, how come it got 9.0?

Exactly, first time I played it I didn't really give it much time. Had to many other games to play at the time. Recently went back through it and 100% the whole single player game. Loved every minute of it.

well you have to give it more than a few hours... LBP was my first PS3 game and it took me a while to actually get into it but later on I became somewhat addicted. So I would say it's a fun overall good game with a few flaws... I did eventually get tired of it. Somewhere between 50-100 hours, which is more time then I've spent with most video games....

I don't know, eventhough it might have a slightest chance to grow on me, it's kinda boring alone. Have you seen the "hints" they lay out on the game? Forcing you to play with two controllers (an additional person), which then also isn't possible without the purchase of a 60$ Sixaxis/Dualshock 3.

"All you do is play other people's games?" I'm assuming you mean playing levels designed by others online. Have you even played the main game? There are lots of unlockables and fun entertaining levels.

While it's subjective and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I do think it's a bit overrated. I never really had fun with the story stages and got bored with the user made stages within a week. I haven't played LBP since last December and don't intend on ever getting a sequel or spin-off title.

"All you do is play other people's games?" I'm assuming you mean playing levels designed by others online. Have you even played the main game? There are lots of unlockables and fun entertaining levels.

We on a grammar-site here? You know what i meant. And yes, i believe i commented on the fact that there are unlockables etc.

It's a love it or hate it game, just like Oblivion.

Good game but i would have to agree. The concept is good and the execution for the most part is good but i find the game pretty dull at times.

You only commented on playing user-created levels and making your own. There is way more value to games than online features.

Well just about all new PS3 games are $60 new; and in my opinion it is worth just as much as any good game. I had a lot of fun with my girlfriend's little brother playing all the main levels and trying to get 100% on them AND getting trophies. That said, when did you buy the game because Amazon has them new for $39.99 :0. I don't know about my local Gamestop, haven't checked in a while.
