loading GT5 problems

im having trouble with GT5. i haven't played it for a while and tried to play it to nite.when the game starts to load up it gets to the screen after the polyphony screen ( Gran turismo 5 with the bit about the on line terms and conditions ) and it stays on that screen for a while then goes blank and the game doesn't start any ideas. the ps3 its self doesn't freeze

It could be your internet connection, or if you have an old ps3, if the install data is corrupt, etc.
