Just the main single player playthrough.
no multi-player, no online, no replaying. just the normal first time through.
What are the longest ps3 games going by this?
and No oblivion/fallout please.
thanks!

Although I'm only 6 hours into it, FFXIII looks like it's going to be a VERY long game (I've heard that the main story alone (excluding sidequests) is 50-60+ hours). Dragon Age Origins is really long as well I hear (haven't played it yet). I had a lot of fun with Demon's Souls, and easily got 80+ hours out of it, although the main campaign will only take you maybe 20-30+ hours. That's all I can think of right now, I'll post some other games if I can think of them later.
Ratchet and Clank is pretty long. Took me days to complete it.

Ratchet and Clank is not long at all, about 20 hours max even if you go extremely slow and try for every collectible.
On topic: Fallout, Oblivion, Disgaea 3, Dragon Age, Final Fantasy XIII.
dragon age took me 110 hours for the firs and my only time.. about 2 and a half months of gaming...
infamous takes about 18 hours for a playthoru, however you can replay it the opposite way, hence another 18 hours!
Dragon Age took me about 30-40 hours to play.....
...on ONE character. I'm on character two and the hours keep adding up...I plan to see all the beginnings and endings and that will probably be like 200 hours later lol
heh, demons souls clocked at 90 hours on my first playthrought, but yeah I did a little grinding in the way, I mean it's almost mandatory in some cases, but the difference is that it doesn't bore you, I played some areas dozens of times and each one was a challenge, really great game.
Cant believe no one said Oblivion, or VC.wooooode
TC doesn't want oblivion or fallout 3, he has stated that in his post lol.
anyway, i'd say FFXIII.
I haven't play any of them but I have heard, too, that FF13 and Dragon age have veeery looong campaign.
Well, on Demon's Souls, you will spend most of your time replaying the levels instead of actually playing through the game. Dragon Age is actually a game that you will spend a lot of time playing through. Don't get me wrong though, Demon's Souls did get me to like 80 hours, but if I was a crazy hardcore gamer and made it through the storyline as if it were a normal game that isn't extremely hard, it would have been like a fourth of the time.chrisPperson
yeah, I would say that the bare minimum to finish demons souls would be 50-60 hours, though still involving some grind, if you were a godlike gamer who just won't die no matter what, you could probably just rush trough it in less then 20 hours I think, but that's not feasible in my opinion heh, and also, like I said, it's a great game, even if you have to play the same area 20 times you won't care, because the combat is oh so good, and even after beating the game I still come back to it sometimes because then you start the new game+ and everything is like 300% harder, also it seems that there is no level cap in the game.
I don't know, for me Demons Souls is a much more interesting experience than the "been there done that" RPG that dragon age is, especially with the awesome online features, but eventually everyone that likes RPGs should try them both.
The game autosaves pretty much constantly so you can jsut quit whenever you want, but if you die you won't be able to turn off your PS3 before it autosaves. You gain souls by killing enemies (and by collecting some objects), you use these souls to do basically everything: level up, buy weapons, armour and items and to upgrade and repair equipment. If you die, you lose any souls you have saved up (i.e. the souls you haven't used) but if you reach the spot you died at before dying again you get them all back. I think there is one time in the game when you can lose levels, but I haven't reached it yet. I don't think it's a big deal really. It sounds complicated but after playing for an hour or two you'll get it. Also, there's a Demon's souls thread which is really helpful. I'll post the link.

Well I'm mostly considering demon's souls and dragon age:origins right now. umm for demon's souls, can u save whenever u want or..how does that work? and how do you gain levels and stuff in that? and i read u can lose souls and stuff....you don't lose levels right? o.o'CyberKlown28
demos souls auto saves pretty much constantly, for an example if you are in the midle of a area, after passng through one of the many checkpoints there are, and then you o press start and quit it'll save everything you've done in that level up untill the last checkpoint (the checkpoints are those light barriers in some dors and passages), but if you go back to the nexus then return to the area the enemies will have respawned, also if you die you will start in the last checkpoint and the enemies you killed after the checkpoint will be back, but any shortcuts you might have opened will remain opened.
but even without the checkpoints, it auto saves all the time, if you just picked up a weapon then died you'll just reastrt at the last checkpoint or beggining of the level vut that weapon will still be in your inventory.
and you gain levels by colecting souls from, every enemy you kill, you can then spend those souls to increase your stats(strenght, endurance, inteligence etc), and each status point you increase is a soul level you go up, and and everytime you get a point the next one will cost more, like for the first point you increased you paid 2000 souls, then tjhe next one will be 3000 and so on...
And you can loos levels, but only at the last boss, he has an atack that each time it hits it takes an level, but it's no big deal really, and you lose all the souls you have in you(that you haven't spent) when you die, but they stay there in the point you died, if you make through the level again and get to your bloodstain you just touch it and you get all the souls back.
god of war 1 is pretty long if it your first time playingespecially if you trying to get all the trophys but then there a trophy on it were you have to beat the game in under 5 hours which seemed impossiable at first also you might wanna look into demon souls since you said no oblivion idk if you like it but its very challenging to beat which makes it long
