a month...was playing games few hrs, 4-6hrs, then rest of the time was running it at folding@home most the time.....after a while i turned if off, cuz my electric bill was going higher not lower lol

lol! agreed. By the way i had mines on for about 8 hours playing Resistance storyline and online.
I leave mine on for days at a time. I usually forget that it's on. Luckily for me, my electricity is included in my rent payment so i don't have to worry about that.
Damn thing is a monster Lol It tried to make toast one time...okay I'm kidding, I left mine on for a day with a game paused. it takes some abuse for sure, but I gotta watch that energy bill :|
I say 3 or 4 hours no longer then that I just don't like to burn my PS3 60gb which I paid a lot of money for....jay_rock_
It puts less stress on the system by just leaving it on all the time. When the PS3 stays on all the time there is a lot less thermal stress on the parts inside. Think of it this way when something is heated it expands and when it's cooled it shrinks back down to the origenal size.
The longest I've left my PS3 (60Gb) on was for "72" hours....I went home from college one weekedn thinking that my PS3 was off only to return and find it still on.
